I wonder if I need any copyright to publish a book by Andrew Murray - Humility, in Romanian language. Actually I would like to publish it online so that everybody can read it. There is a translated version but I don't like the translation.
As far as I know, the books over 75 years or more are in the public domain.

I just looked this book up on Amazon, and there are two publishers in English at the moment. One is Whitaker House, US, which has an 'Editor's note' in the front, saying the book has been edited for the modern reader: 'Words, expressions and sentence structure have been updated for clarity and readability'. That sounds like what you've been doing!
Exactly the same note appears in the Christian Literature Crusade publication.
Both these notes appear in the 'Copyright' section.
It seems that you're probably okay to proceed, unless others know better than I.
