Young up and coming Pastors.

If any of you know of any young up and coming Pastors, please let me know if they have any sermons I could possibly download or just listen to. I am 59, but I Love the way these young guys present the Word. I had an opportunity to listen to one Wednesday night, he was just awesome, very sweet spirit, just an awesome young man of God. I Love the older guys, but they just can't minister to me like these young on fire for the Lord guys can, were all different, and different folks can minister to different people, this is why God has so many different one's to choose from.

MrBill,

Check out www.soundofawakening.wordpress.com you can click on the podcast at the top to listen to sermons or read the blog posts as well. This is the youth pastor at my church and a personal mentor to me. He loves the Lord with all his heart and his desire is to preach the true Gospel of Jesus. Has some awesome words up here.

There is a group of young men (mid 20's I'd guess) who we met at the SI Revival Conference in Indianapolis in 2009. I believe you can access some of their messages through their website at www.youmustbebornagain.org

Praise God for the younger up and coming pastors. I believe David Platte is only 29 and his book Radical is having an impact. But then was not Spurgeon 16 when he started preaching? What is even more amazing is how God is working among the youth.

Praise the Lord! thank you all so much for the responses. I just listened to Pastor Jeff Turner's message on "Entering Into the Supernatural Rest of God" he is awesome. I asked and I received just what I was asking for, we serve an awesome God!

Check out Jonathan Martin of the Renovatus Community church in Charlotte. He's in his early 30's. Very different style and delivery, a little controversial, but I know of nobody else yielding such a pointed sword his age. He hits nails on the head left and right. Very brilliant, and theologically meaty.

And when I say different in style, I mean he doesn't mind borrowing strange concepts from comic books, movies, and general pop culture. It takes a little getting used to him dropping a reference to a Marvel Comic superhero, or something from a Stephen King movie... or the band U2. But that's just him being him. He has more 20 somethings in his 500 member church than we do in my 3000 member church. He's definitely reaching a generation for Christ in this area.

But with all that said, his teaching is amazingly rich and deep. Like this past Sunday he spoke on praying for the sick and anointing them with oil, and explained the reason we ultimately do that as Christians is because we are a people who believe God is about the business of redeeming all of creation, including our mortal bodies, and will do so one day in the resurrection. I've never heard such a deep exposition of James 5. Good stuff.

Glory to God! It is the youth!

Jesus became real to me in 1970 at my first Bible study. It was a 17 year old pastor with an afro. I had never heard of being born again or ever heard a Bible study. A 16 year old told be about God's love, I was already extremely convicted of sin during the Bible study and prayed and wept for an hour or so with joy after praying. It was a saul - Paul conversion. I went from addicted to R&R to anything about Jesus I could find. We went instantly out on the campus sharing this Savior we had just found with all the youth there. Glory to God.

Now, many years later, I am still on the streets sharing His love, but it is to the older ones. Most have been in Church, some hurt from Churches. All have an excuse, Some can share the Gospel better than us. But something happened and they are now addicts and homeless. Some are getting saved and delivered but not an out pouring like we long for.

Wed. night at the Evangelism meeting at Church I was asked to give my testimony and the Pastor there is a hands on evangelist in tent city, food banks, preaching and sharing the love with everyone in the city. After I gave my testimony he said it's the youth. We need to reach the youth. And bring the youth into our meetings.

We were located in another room at Church as the youth were in the Sanctuary having their meeting. I was the first to leave and I was hit with a blast of the Holy Spirit.

There was our youth, not young adults but the youth, lights were low, worship music playing and the youth on their knees praying and praying for one another. O' the Presence of the Lord was so strong. I am so extremely blessed. God is moving and in the US and there is more to come. All glory to God.

Lets make it a priority to pray for our youth - young adults everywhere. I know some have children, some have grandchildren. Lets pray the Holy Spirit will pour out upon them and they can be part of what the Lord is and going to do amongst them. Amen and Amen. And remember to pray for the revival conference coming up in Oct. with SI as well. That the Lord will bring the youth to it or have a youth night. All glory to God. We live in such exciting times and it is going to get more exciting as well. Hallelujah!

Not a time to fear Christians, a time to draw close to God and be part of what He is doing and about to do. He needs intercessors. All to His glory for He is worthy!

I'm glad giggles said Matt Chandler. I was going to recommend him. He has a sermon called "Preaching the Gospel from the Center of the Evangelical World" or something very close, that rates up there with Paris Reidhead's 10 Shekels and a Shirt, and A Man of God by Leonard Ravenhill.

If you haven't heard it already, just google "Jesus Wants the Rose". It's an excerpt of one of Chandler's sermons. It'll move you like the Revival Hymn. I'm a big fan. Can you tell?:)

Another guy is Tim Keller. He's not young, but his message is kind of fresh. Most of his stuff is philosopher/apologist type preaching. Not a hell fire preacher at all. The angle that he takes in preaching the Gospel is refreshing. He's written a couple of books as well. I've been given a much deeper understanding of the gospel through listening to him.

Rates up there with 10 Shekels and a Shirt? I personally believe it surpasses that sermon, this guy is awesome, and just think two days ago I had never heard of him. Why do all the older Pastors get more notoriety? I will never understand this, remember Jesus was a young Pastor, and the best Shepherd yet.
