I found the following text on a beautifully decorated page in the front of someone's old Bible and got permission to make a photocopy of it. I dont' know how to post an image of that page here, but at least I can share the text with you. God help us to instill this kind of reverence in our children as we introduce them to the Word of God.
THE BIBLE
This Book Contains:
The mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, doom of sinners, and happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler's map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, the soldier's sword and the Christian's charter. Here Paradise is restored, Heaven opened, and the gates of hell disclosed. Christ is it's Grand Subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It is given you in life, will be open at the Judgement and be remembered forever. It involves the highest responsibility, rewards the greatest labor and condemns all who trifle with its holy contents.

This Voice salutes in accents' kind
This Friend will all our need supply
This Fountain sends forth streams of joy
This Mine affords us boundless wealth
This Good Physician gives us health
This Sun renews and warms the soul
This Sword both wounds and makes us whole
This Letter shows our sins forgiven
This Guide conducts us safe to Heaven
This Charter has been sealed with blood
This Volume is the Word of God
