Old Paths Magazine again released with a different ministry

sermonindex Apr 21, 2011

Saints,

I wanted to write this note to encourage you to download a new edition of the Old Paths Magazine: http://www.restartministries.org/OldPaths3.28.11.pdf

It is being published by: http://www.restartministries.org

I am excited to see this happen. I have felt the Lord had me to stop doing the magazine a long time ago and this brother approached me to continue on the vision of the periodical. I am glad to see it done in a new style but with the same heart.

I encourage you to share this new ministry with others and also utilize the old paths publications and follow them for new issues coming out I believe bi-monthly if I am not mistaken.

I trust many of the brethren will bookmark that ministry site and check back often for new issues.

Brethren,

Warning, this ministry teaches Belief plus Baptism = Salvation. This is an extreme error and false gospel. Discern for yourself.

Brother,

Though they have an emphasis on baptism I believe no true christian group would forbid baptism therefore it is biblical to teach it and require it as a step of obedience in the faith of Jesus Christ. Our Salvation is found in Faith in Christ Alone and His Atoning Work on the cross. Baptism is a first step of obedience to this fact and should be taught.

But I agree with you there is an "over-emphasis" on this in that booklet.

Hi Brother,

What you said regarding Baptism and Salvation is correct, but the booklet clearly states Belief + Baptism = Salvation. "Over-emphasis" is an understatement, their teaching is a heresy that damns people to hell. It requires "work" to be saved. Men throughout the history of the church have died to fight this kind of false gospel.

My point is that we should be discerning when we are exposed to different ministries. We should also be ready to expose false doctrine when we see it.

I read over the pamphlet again and agree that is a wrong statement. I will speak with the brother who runs this ministry and not promote the website if these materials are being promoted also.

The decision has been made to dis-continue to promote the magazine on that website at this time.

We are locking the thread.
