God doesn't ONLY need a bunch of eyeballs " Rise up Seniors"

sermonindex Apr 25, 2011

GOD DOESN’T NEED A BUNCH OF EYE BALLS,

HE NEEDS THE BODY OF CHRIST

1 CORINTHIANS 12: 12- ONE BODY MANY PARTS

THE BODY IS A UNIT,

DICTIONARY: UNIT …. A SINGLE UNDIVIDED WHOLE

V-14 NAS FOR THE BODY IS NOT ONE MEMBER, BUT MANY.

V-15 NAS IF THE FOOT SAY, “BECAUSE I AM NOT A HAND, I AM NOT A PART OF THE BODY,” IT IS NOT FOR THIS REASON ANY THE LESS A PART OF THE BODY.

( IF THE ELDERLY SHOULD SAY, “ BECAUSE I AM NOT A YOUTH, I AM OF NO USE TO THE BODY. ) WHAT A LIE FROM THE ENEMY.

V-16 AND IF THE EAR SAYS, “ BECAUSE I AM NOT AN EYE, I AM NOT A PART OF THE BODY, IT IS NOT FOR THIS REASON ANY THE LESS A PART OF THE BODY.

MANY TIMES WE HAVE PUT IMPORTANCE ON ALL THE EYE BALLS TO PRAY FOR THEM. NOT REALIZING THAT WE NEED THE REST OF THE BODY.
GOD WANT THE WHOLE BODY.

V-17 IF THE WHOLE BODY WERE AN EYE, WHERE WOULD THE HEARING BE?

WHEN NEED THE ELDERLY PRAYING AND HEARING FROM GOD.
HAVING A SENSE OF SMELL ( DISCERNMENT )

V-18 BUT NOW GOD HAS PLACED THE MEMBERS, EACH ONE OF THEM IN THE BODY, JUST AS HE DESIRED.

EACH ONE OF US HAS A PURPOSE, JUST AS GOD HAS PLACED IT SO.

V-21 AND THE EYE CANNOT SAY TO THE HAND, ‘ I HAVE NO NEED OF YOU”; OR AGAIN THE HEAD TO THE FEET, I HAVE NO NEED OF YOU.

GOD NEEDS US ALL TO BRING IN THE END TIME HARVEST.!!!!

V-22…… THE MEMBERS OF THE BODY WHICH SEEM TO BE WEAKER ARE NECESSARY;

THE ELDERLY ARE NECESSARY. INDISPENSABLE NIV

V-23 THOSE MEMBER OF THE BODY WHICH WE DEEM LESS HONORABLE, ON THESE WE BESTOW MORE ABUNDANT HONOR,

WE ARE TO GIVE MORE ABUNDANT HONOR TO OUR SENIORS.

V-25 SO THAT THERE MAY BE NO DIVISION IN THE BODY, BUT THAT THE MEMBERS MAY HAVE THE SAME CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER

V-27 NIV KEY: NOW YOU ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST,
AND EACH ONE OF YOU IS A PART OF IT.

I THINK IT’S A SIN THAT WE HAVE GIVEN GREATER IMPORTANCE AND VALUE TO OUR YOUTH. CHRIST IS OUR ONLY HOPE. AND WE NEED TO PRAY FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST. TO BE USED AND FUNCTIONING IN THE GIFTS AND CALL THAT GOD HAS CALLED THEM INTO. PRAYING FOR ONE ANOTHER, LIFTING ONE ANOTHER UP IN PRAYER. EXHORTING ONE ANOTHER ENCOURAGING THE BODY OF CHRIST AS A WHOLE.
NOBODY LEFT OUT, BELIEVING THERE TIME HAS PASS NO LONGER USEFUL WEAK. WHAT A LIE FROM THE ENEMY.
GOD DOESN’T NEED A BUNCH OF EYE BALLS!
HE NEEDS THE BODY OF CHRIST!

IF THE ELDERLY BELIEVE THAT LIE WHO IS GOING TO TEACH THE YOUNGER? SETTING AN EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW.

PAUL SAYS IN 1 CORINTHIANS 11:1
FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE, AS I FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF CHRIST.

PAUL NEVER SAID, FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE UP TO THE AGE 65, THEN DON’T BOTHER, I’M OLD HAT TO WEAK TO FOLLOW.

AS LONG AS YOU ARE FOLLOWING AFTER CHRIST AND ARE AN EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW. YOU HAVE CHRIST WITHIN YOU THE HOPE OF GLORY FOR THE YOUTH TO FOLLOW. LET YOUR GRAY HAIR SHINE LIKE A LIGHT BEFORE ALL TO SEE.

SENIORS NEED TO TAKE THE EXAMPLE ROLE SERIOUS AND TEACH THE YOUNGER WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO.
THEY HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE TO TEACH THE YOUNGER.
WHERE TO GO AND WHERE NOT TO GO.
RELYING ON HIS WISDOM THAT COMES FROM ABOVE, AND THE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE TOGETHER MAKING THEM A STRONG PART OF THE BODY OF CHRIST.

ANTIQUE : DICTIONARY …..VALUABLE BECAUSE OF ITS BEAUTY OR RARITY.
BECOME MORE VALUABLE AND BEAUTIFUL IN CHRIST WITH AGE

EPH 4:11-13
IT WAS HE WHO GAVE SOME TO BE ……
TO PREPARE GOD’S PEOPLE FOR WORKS OF SERVICE,
SO THAT THE BODY OF CHRIST MAY BE BUILT UP.

V-16 FROM HIM THE WHOLE BODY, JOINED AND HELD TOGETHER BY EVERY SUPPORTING LIGAMENT, GROWS AND BUILDS ITSELF UP IN LOVE,
AS EACH PART DOES IT’S WORK.

SOULWON,

You have a very kind and respectable attitude towards seniors. Many elderly would be delighted to teach the younger but they think we are old-fashioned and have no clue what we are talking about. "Times have changed" they say and that means old folks ideas are outdated and no longer relevant.

The younger generation is into cultivating self-esteem which differs radically when we were young. Why, we never heard of the term! If we did wrong, there was a price to pay - no one cared about how we were going to feel - you just do not behave that way!

There is such a wide gap between generations...we can work hard to bridge that gap, but we get weary when this burden seems to be exclusively ours. It would be so nice if [EDIT] more of the young would make the effort to bridge it as well. [EDIT:] Some do and it is such a blessing!

Thanks for the timely post...

Amen Soulwon!....and Ginnyrose....

It's the Hollywood effect, that worships the human goddesses and gods as idols.... who along with the "ME" first spirit that evaluates everyone with the idea of "How can you gratify ME??...How can you serve ME???....

1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good......[ 2 Timothy 3]

This spirit has defiled our holy Churches, and grown as leaven and is truly another gospel. It is now the Norm, rather than the exception. It is a portion of "THE GREAT FALLING AWAY"..that the Apostles prophesied of.

One of the first thing to go is the respect of ones elders...and it is surely guaranteed to destroy the soul continued.

Add this to a gospel that's motive is to "bless" and serve man....and it's every man for himself with life given to soak up more and more blessing, and live more and more for yourself. It's a gospel Tailor made for the FLESH....our indwelling satanic Nature that we all possess.

The idea is to Crucify and DENY ourselves, rather than pamper ourselves...

This eventually creates like attitudes that you have mentioned, because as an old guy or gal....Elderly!...your pretty much useless....and you are not loved or needed.

But be aware my brother, that this is not from the Church...but an apparition of her. There is a remnant out there rising up that will and can show love to every member of the body...Let us look up, and be ready to embrace her when we see her. My grandma and grandpa loved me...and I them...and it will happen again .

Revelation 19:6-8 (King James Version)

6. "And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

7. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

8. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints."

Righteousness is also coming in these last days....

Quote: "SENIORS NEED TO TAKE THE EXAMPLE ROLE SERIOUS AND TEACH THE YOUNGER WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO.

Bless you for desiring that 'seniors' be respected for their age. That is Scriptural.

My reason for posting just this quote, is because not all Seniors are good examples of sound doctrine or example-living.

Could you pray for seniors that GOD would rescue them from both of these, so that they could be good examples?

Thank you!!

Refreshing to see a post about the elderly being godly examples to the young. I know a sister who went on a short term mission trip to India and slept on the ground. Know how old she was???? Try 75. That's right 75. God grant us baby boomers the spirit of Caleb who told Joshua that I feel just as strong at 85 as I was at 40. I doubt that the young men could keep ip with Cakeb as he was kicking bootie in battle. Anyone up for a mission trip with a baby boomer here????

My experience [as a young 'un] has been that godly elderly ones are glad to share and contribute but they need to be repeatedly ASSURED that they are welcome.

Our congregation is blessed with many, many senior folks who love Jesus and love His people, young and old. Thankfully, our pastors know this and we have many older folks joyfully serving the Lord in various capacities.

I realize if i'm to have any older Christian friends and mentors, i may have to seek them out. So now, I purposely cultivating their friendships and am encouraging others to do so too.
