Have you said this before? If so you maybe reading the bible wrong. Pay close attention to detail and really seek the message and the pages will come to life. The bible has it all scandal, violence, sex, Love, hate, comedy, tragedy and not to mention some quite amazing plot twists. Far greater than any novel we have to date the Bible is a rich treasure cove of wonder and excitement If you want to see what I mean just read Esther and see how boring the bible is. If done properly even the geneologies everyone seems to dread can come to life and take on a whole new meaning for you in your studies.
For more exciting stories read the Gospels and place yourself in the shoes of one of the disciples or even one of the Pharisees, That meanice Jesus coming in to change your way of life "HOW COULD HE!" Really try to get inside the characters head and ask simple question to further your obersation. Simple Who, What, When, Why, and How can greatly enhance a study. I believe more churches need to be teaching simple bible study methods rather than spoon feeding their people, teach them how to fish themselves and they can eat for themselves and won't depend on you for everything but on the Holy Spirit.
So again if you find the Bible boring examine how you read the Good Book.
