demon affliction, help needed

sermonindex May 2, 2011

I have been listening to Jim Logan's Spiritual Warfare series and finished the last two tonight. I've been trying to cast the demons out of me with the some of the techniques and power from this seminar. It has been working well but there is one particular demon that I can't command to leave. And its a demon in my mind that keeps letting the other demons back in by giving me thoughts of "I allow _____ back in".

This kind cometh forth by fasting and by prayer. There is usually a 'strong man' that has 'authority' to be there, meaning somewhere along the way you possibly gave him authority to be there.

You will need to fast and pray and ask the Lord to show you where you gave him authority and why so you can take back what is rightly yours. Fast and pray, brother; the Lord will not forsake you. Then you will be armed to go into the strong man's house and bind the strong man and spoil his goods in Jesus name!

There are other's who will be able to help you better than I, they will either pm you or answer here.

God bless you brother, the Lord is ON your side!!

Good word, Lysa.

Also, the door opened to the powers of darkness by an act of your will will remain open until you close it by an act of your will. The Lord will show you where you gave ground. All you have to do is ask Him. Repentance breaks his hold.

Praying for you,

And, Noah, it is a war! Do not forget that.

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks [be] to God, which GIVETH us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hi Noah,

You've been given good counsel.

I would add this - that no matter what the Lord reveals to you, your release lies in recognising that you were crucified with Christ.

Some people would put that a different way. They would say 'Take it to the cross'. It is there that sin loses its power, as we welcome the working of the cross into the deepest recesses of our beings - mind and body.

There is, also, a sweetness about the cross, not to be feared.

Bless you for your testimony. God will give you more light. Sometimes you have to study the enemy, (I don't mean yield to him - just try to understand him) before you can devise a strategy which will bar him out.

If there is some habit of thought you have to change, then you have to actively put something different in that thinking space. It could be anything wholesome. For me, it is worship and praise in the Spirit, as Paul recommends in Ephesians 5:19.

Dear Noah, when you first posted for help for "schizophrenia" - one responder started their post with "Legion". That could potentially put 'that' thought into your mind.

There are two words in your post that come from false teaching about what can happen to "Christians".

Those two words are "in" and "cast out".

You need to read The WORD of GOD to see where a truly Saved Christian stands in Christ.

No where in the entire New Testament will you find demons "In" a Christian - needing to be "cast 'out'".

If you truly gave your life to Christ and experienced true conversion - yes - demons can lie to you, in your mind.
They can put thoughts into your mind - Yes.
They Especially work with and thrive on "fear" and false doctrines.
They especially work through "lying to a child of GOD" that Christ's initial entrance into their spirit is Not Enough.

I watched as a young lady who had the fear of displeasing GOD and saw 'every thought' that she had that wasn't perfect, turn to a "deliverance minister" who held her chin back [which chokes a person] and he kept yelling at her "name yourself - name yourself" and the poor innocent girl could only speak what she feared. She feared every thought that wasn't 'perfect' so she named "lust" - "fear" and anything she could think of.

This man and his helpers 'thought' that those were demons 'naming themselves'.

When she finally was too exhausted to continue naming things and actually ran out of things that she thought were sinful - they let her go. She was just so pleased that they finally let go of her throat that she Praised GOD.
Her heart was tender toward The LORD and she loved Him more than life --- but when she got home - a fear took over her and in came the enemy's words into her mind - "We're still in here."

Well - this has a very happy ending, because a Stronger Voice came next and said - "Go Read MY WORD" and Jesus in His Tender Mercy directed her to Scripture after Scripture and More Scripture of where a true Saint who desires to please Him, Stands in Christ - "GOD our Saviour", and that what these men were believing were Dead Wrong.

She became a very strong child of GOD - able to minister His Truth to others bound by sin and fears, by leading them through the WORD of GOD which sets us free from sin and fear by His Spirit of Truth - The Power of The Holy Spirit - with the gifts of The Spirit - through Counseling by His Spirit Whom He called our "Comforter".

How did this girl think that she needed things "cast 'out' that were 'in' her" ... only by the teaching of men - Not from her Bible.

Only the Unsaved have demons "in" them. HE - The LORD of Glory has "swept the house clean" when He took ownership of that house.

Unless a person is in complete rebellion against GOD in practicing sin as a lifestyle, will they be later tormented - which is a type of chastisement for a True Saint to scare the sin out of them. I've testimonies of people who weren't saved that had demons "scare the hell out of them" and they dropped to their knees and cried out to GOD ... :) ... because people had prayed for their Salvation along the way.

If a person hasn't made a true commitment to GOD toward salvation - well, then, that's a totally different story.

How do we know if we've made a true commitment to GOD onto being Saved by Him - by the fruit of the change in our lives. We don't become perfect - but we do see a change in the things that we once practiced and desired. We can feel that change in heart and desires.

Yes, many say a prayer but never have any change in their desires - so yes, they need to truly get down to business in coming in sincerity To The LORD GOD, In Truth --- but if they have sincerely come to Him and have experienced the evidence of salvation - then they need to shout back at the devil - I'VE BEEN CLEANED OUT OF ANY DEMONIC SPIRITS BECAUSE NOW, THE 'HOLY' SPIRIT RESIDES IN ME AND NO DEMON CAN BY ANY MEANS RESIDE IN THE "SAME TEMPLE WITH" THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD - THE CREATOR OF 'ALL' THINGS - INCLUDING FALLEN ANGELS.

After which - you come to realize, that all that Satan and demons can do is 'vex' you with their "lies" AGAINST GOD'S WORD, and of WHO HE IS and especially of what HE HAS DONE WHEN HE "SAVED" you.
Oh Happy Day when that realization hits us!!

From then on - you know that all attacks on you are coming from the outside in ... just as Satan spoke to Jesus in the wilderness - and How Jesus showed us how to fight Satan - is with The WORD of GOD alone!

The lies Against GOD are that when He saves - He doesn't do a very good job in cleaning house. Can you see that?

Our "attacks" come from the Outside. We are fed lies, temptations, wrong thoughts about GOD, errors in beliefs/false doctrines, and so forth from the outside - from the enemy feeding thoughts into our minds - from the outside. They Don't Live IN a Child of GOD! and THAT's Scripture!

But we choose what we believe. His WORD is there for us to set us Free - if we'd just believe it.

My prayers and the prayers of others who want you to see Jesus as GOD Almighty Himself that Loves you, are with you 100%.

Battle any off-thought with His Word and fight against the labels that men and demons put on you.
The battlefield is the mind.
We need to take 'every' thought captive to the obedience of Christ - which means - filling our minds with His WORD, so that His WORD becomes the only thing in your mind. After a while - your thinking is replaced with thinking in Scripture. Scripture becomes your new way of thinking. Everything is filtered through Scripture alone. At that point - error is caught immediately when heard and immediately tossed by the WORD alone. ie "...The Joy of The LORD 'is' our Strength" and He wants to bring us into that joy.

Hand-write all of the positive verses you can find from the New Testament. There is a benefit in writing them out by hand. Avoid things secular, like TV and whatever feeds the flesh. Keep good Christian music on and if you have the New Testament on CD, then listen to that also.
The Old Testament Points to Christ Who is found in the N.T. with all of His Words of our complete victory over injected thoughts.

Until a person learns the New Testament and it becomes a solid part of them - I always give struggling or new Christians just the N.T. and Psalms - until they are totally built up and can understand how to use the O.T. properly. Which parts apply to the Spirit filled Christian and which are Pre-Christ.

Bless you Noah with every spiritual gift in Christ Jesus our LORD. Please Trust in HIS WORD alone - in Jesus' Authority, Amen.

I forgot another essential to healing, to tell you - that was verified by even a secular Psychistrist when I was studying to go into that field for years - but then in 1978 my whole vast library on psychiatry was burnt.
Though the LORD has allowed a few more recent "medical" books in this field to cross my path in order for me to see "the latest" excuses they are now using to excuse sin. Oh my!

But with Christians - who walk by faith, believing that Jesus is our Example - the one thing that even this secular Psychiatrist had to admit was true - is where Jesus taught us to "die to self and live for others". Amen!

Volunteer work is the best medicine in the area of 'activities'.

If you love the elderly - go visit them.
If children, then volunteer somehow to help them.
There are countless opportunities to help others - and because Jesus lived "for others only" - you'll also be walking in His foot-steps.

This gets one's mind off of "self" and GOD Blesses anytime we even so much as give a glass of cold water in His Name.

Remember those last verses in Matthew 25. "I was sick, and you visited Me", "I was naked, and you clothed Me", and so forth. We don't do these things out of fear of being a goat - but out of that Love that He has for human beings.

Yes, helping others is one thing that should be a priority on everyone's activity list, and with the prayers that we'll be walking as He did - dead to self. Praise GOD!

He is Faithful.

After many years of reading on this subject and various arguments I agree with Jesus-is-God when she says that true born again Christians canNOT be possessed by demons. They can be OPPRESSED, but i do not believe the Holy Ghost is going to share His habitation with a devil.

Try renouncing the thoughts out loud when they come, in the name of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (be sure to use His complete title, as there are many "Jesus'").

Also get some praise music and play it constantly, even all night if necessary (while you sleep). No, i do not mean "contemporary" or "Christian" rock. Use real worship music that mentions the name of The Lord Jesus Christ, preferably old hymns. Stay away from so-called worship music that basically never mentions the Lord's name and which you could just as easily sing to your boyfriend, girlfriend, or pet gerbil. It is written, The Lord inhabits the praises of His people". Devils will have a hard time stickin around.

I agree with Jesus-is-God.

The one who is IN YOU is greater than he who is IN THE WORLD. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our FAITH. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes in God's only Son, he that is BORN OF GOD.

The LORD proved a point with me in the very early hours of yesterday.

Sometimes we forget everything we've ever read 'Except' His Word - and Thank GOD in the majority of cases.
What caused me to realize this was Him having me to go check my bookcase. Hmm, I said. On which I found 7 books on Warfare, but only The Word of GOD stayed in my mind from these books and they were excellent books. All Classics books but two. Bless The WORD of GOD made flesh, Who dwells within us, Amen and Amen!
