Hello,
In my mind he was very much non-conformist on many of the popular doctrines of the day. I have not heard him 100% oppose the doctrine theologically but he would give many statements such as:
Leonard Ravenhill: "There is a cowardly Christianity which...still comforts its fainting heart with the hope that there will be a rapture - perhaps today - to catch us away from coming tribulation" (Sodom Had No Bible, p. 94).
Or to indict the church he would say: "The church today wants to sit back, relax and be raptured."
Or: "today we want to be raptured from responsibility."
He saw the rapture as not a propelling doctrine for obedience and Christ-likeness but something that he thought added to the spiritual decline of the church of North America.
