Law or Grace

The scripture tells us that "sin has no power over us because we are under grace and not under law." It also tells us that Jesus has already nailed the "handwriting of requirements" on the cross(both taken from Romans). In the scriptures, there is only one time God wrote law from His own finger - the ten commandments. Then this means that we are no longer of the ten commandments (the law), but of Christ Jesus. You cannot be of Christ and still follow the law. When Jesus was here on earth, the only people who could not receive from Him were these religious leaders who stuck with the law. I'm sure people will start asking, "What then will we follow to live godly, holy lives?" Doesn't the scripture tell us that "Jesus was made unto us wisdom, holiness, righteousness"? He is the standard of our righteousness. Righteousness is not something we do, it is a "gift".

Amen, we are not do-ers but be-ers. By being in Him and He in us we will be do-ers of His righteousness. Col 1:27-28

Well said. We do also gain through this grace we receive, a new love and obedience for the Royal Commands (Luke 10:27) that Christ authors.

Amen;

That is the true beauty of grace - that what we were utterly incapable of doing before, when we lived according to our sinful natures, and thought that 'good deeds' or a 'good life' were sufficient and deserving of Divine Mercy, has been made open to us, and now we are clothed with righteousness that is not of us, undeserved, yet freely given.

God IS good!
