The Lord says, ‘My compassion grows warm and tender. I will not execute my fierce anger.’ This is what God the Father’s heart is like. How can I gain access to this heart? It is closed to the self-righteous, to the high and mighty, to the proud, to those who feel intellectually superior. But it is wide open to the humble, to the broken-hearted, to those who grieve over their sins. Upon them He pours out the abundance of His merciful love. The Father is calling you to go this way, so that He can reveal His heart to you and you can taste His loving-kindness.
