Evangelism and Purity!

D

One of the most common things a street evangelist or a christian suffers with or me is the fight to stay pure and the failings!
Why is it whenever I am helping to design tracts or sites to help christian evangelist I feel extremely inadequate and sexual temptation is at its highest

1 Corinthians 6:18 KJV
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

I so try and flee fornication whether it is on the internet and I do not watch tv or movies, I only read books!

1 Corinthians 6:18 KJV
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

I think despite my efforts the battle against my sin is still a battle! I wish I could win the battle! In marriage and in every aspect as not being married. As most things it is allways the tiny things the small sin, which I hate as I cant remember I think it was denny kensengton sin always takes you further than you want to go.
Another one of his quotes was when referring to the enemy that if you are shot by a bullet from the enemy you would be alot more angry at him!

The attack is sometimes pride as you think that you have overcome a sin and it returns for a while or other times it is to denegrate gods design in your body, that you will not be good enough for your wife or it maybe financial that you do not have enough money or the degree of circumstances.

Sin has so many different ways it attacks you, you need to rely on god to know where that firey dart comes from. Sexual sin took down great warriors of faith like David, Samson and others.

Probably every member especially pastors and preachers need prayer for this issue. I think I have heard groups such as Hindus and Witches sending in people to break up churches using a women to do it.

I think I have heard street preachers giving up because of adultery! Is this not an issue that affects everyone. I do not want to sin against God and I so want prayer for purity and so do you

Matthew 5:8 KJV
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God

I so want to be pure in heart but we live in such a sinful world and it is the constant fight against yourself

and I do not watch tv or movies, I only read books!

For most of my adult life i had no tv and hated it. Most of tv IS trash. However, now i just got a 2nd hand tv after i lost my job due to disability as i am all alone. This time i am keeping it and making no apologies because i have no family or social connections and am trapped inside all day every day. I watch some of the cooking, travel, or gardening channel, and the retro/oldies channel. Today i watched Shirley Temple's first great movie "Bright Eyes" from about 1939 and it was so nice. I think i will pray and ask God to always keep me from tuning into anything He does not want me to watch, as some stuff you don't know all the content until it hits you in the face.

This is indeed a huge battle that we face. It is one of the ways we are tempted greatly in modern society and our response to this temptation reveals where our hearts are really at. I'm learning the need to not feel guilty over merely being tempted. Sometimes when I'm tempted I'm not sure whether I sinned at my heart or not and I'll ask the Lord to forgive me and renounce whatever sin I was tempted by just in case. That is safe, but I want my discernment to get better so I don't have such awkward moments, because they can be wearisome when a lot of them happen on the same day when so much else is going on.

Above all, we need to know that the Lord is on the side of those who want to follow Christ and resist the devil and is always ready to help us when we come to him for aid. The guilt over one wrong look can take us away from Christ and lead to a defeated life not because we want to continue in sin, but because we think that God is done with us now that we've failed. We can really have total confidence that Christ is our Advocate with the Father who is more interested in restoring us than we could be in being restored. So there's never a need to wait to come to him in true repentance for mercy and grace and then to continue to walk with him totally restored!

"Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:14-16)

"But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7:24-25)

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous" (1 John 2:1)

We must do our best to stay pure. Our thought life must be focused on things that are holy and pure . My desire to evangelize has increased so much lately. I pray for God to open up doors. I think of what I can do next to win a soul to the Lord. We can stay pure if we stay focused. I have been meditating on Hebrews 12 : 1-3 . This scripture has strengthened me. I know that we aren't perfect , but we can stand in these last days with the help of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost !
