He was telling me about a lesbian that he has worked with for a few years now who originally hated him when they met because to her Christians are the kind of people who hold signs outside their churches saying homosexuality is wrong, and God hates them etc. My friend felt that God had called him to just show and exemplify Christ love to her all the time, treating her with the dignity due to all humans. At one point she broke down and sang a little ditty out loud to him after a year and a half or so of working together. No, the impetus was that she was acknowledging, after having hated him, that she could not deny how loving he had been. She now no longer hates him for being a Christian and lets him share truth with her more frequently.
