"Dear Friends,
We didn’t plan to send another update about _______for a while, until he was up and about and able to do it. However, so many people have written saying they want to know what has happened since the last update.
God has helped strongly because so many Christians have been praying. Only a few hours after he woke up in the ICU, the nurses took him for a walk up and down the corridor. The surgeon came to visit right then, and said he was shocked because he had never in 20 years seen anyone walking so freely just after a heart valve replacement.
Since then he has gone back to a normal room and we visit every day. He said the worst thing is that he only has 20-30% of his mental sharpness due to all the drugs he has been given.( Normally he doesn’t even like to take an aspirin or panadol when he is sick). Each time we visit we can see he is getting stronger physically, and has even gone on quite long walks and climbed stairs as part of the physio program.
This morning his wife went to bring ______ back to the motel as planned. Unfortunately he couldn’t be released because his heart had been racing all night (14 hours total). His wife quietly prayed for him and then left. A few minutes later the surgeon came into his room shocked and surprised. He said that he had been monitoring his heart rate from another room and all of a sudden it became normal. He explained that he was just getting ready to put him out and operate again! Praise God!
Please pray that God’s grace and mercy will continue to cover his mind and body, and that he will take it slow for the long 6 weeks ahead of recovery time so he will heal totally.
