Deception in the church - Led by feelings

Watched both videos, and they were excellent and a reminder for me to not look to emotions, but to the word of God.

This does need to be addressed, but many leaders are too scared or intimidated to do so.

Renouncer, Enid, and Ginny, do you ponder that these exposed flagrant pageants of extreme corruption have become the whipping boy of the modern church? I know that many churches attain a false comfort by way of such comparisons, and I would think this to be evidence of the blindness that has only one hope for cure. When the standard is not Christ, there is no standard. Though we should judge rightly and with Godly discernment, the number must be staggering of those who sit in like judgement as the Pharisee over the publican. We grieve the obvious and there are many of this world who scorn the impostor's pathetic display in the limelight.

Since we are where we are, shouldn't our greatest evangelistic concern and effort be for the great majority dead in the church?

I understand that it gets tiresome to hear about from all these preachers who are lamenting about ________(you fill in the blank).

What fuels these teachers' concerns is the blindness of people who are being snookered into the devils whorl of deception. He is so subtle, so sly that many do not realize they have been snookered. If you are a Calvinist you may say "well, they were not Christians to begin with!" A Biblical Christian will say, "yes, we can be deceived, hence we always need to be watchful. So, teach us more."

We live in a culture that bombards us at all times with its sin. It is everywhere - in the stores, on billboards. These are hard to avoid. Then you have the media which serves as the devil's mouthpiece, bullhorn, too many times. We feel helpless to change the music played in the stores, the magazines displayed at the checkout counter, or the billboards that grace our roadsides. All of these things work to rob us of our sensitivity to the wickedness in our surroundings.

And this is why we need men who are calling forth to people, to sound the warnings. Much like the prophets of old. They were not popular and neither will modern day prophets be popular.

Romans 16:17 NASB: Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.

2Thessalonians 3:6-7 NASB: Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us.

7For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you,

Brother, it is impossible to minister to dead people. It is to those that are drinking from the fountain that leads to death these watchmen are crying out to. You, me and all of here on SI are concerned about this responsibility, I am sure.

You are right Ginny, Dead is dead. I would not however bridle truth (except that it be pearl before swine) for the greater number of those who drink from the same fountain are seated within the more conservative pews across America. A given that the H.S. receives all credit for without Him there is no work. We are but unprofitable servants but even to the dead our words rejected will see Him glorified. If not as instruments of life then sadly instruments by which accountability to the truth tendered comes condemnation. Either way He is glorified. It is good there are watchmen sounding the Alarm. I am just concerned that there are so many who would agree the watchmen should sound the alarm, yet will never hear the alarm that should be sounded within their very walls.

I understand and can relate with your concerns. However, I still think it is time to blow the trumpet.

If I smash the trumpet on your head, I am not doing it the way I am supposed to. Conversely, if I hide my trumpet, I am not being a faithful watchman. However, I should blow the trumpet with love, crying out against the enemy's schemes for the sake of Jerusalem.

And I do weep for the ruins of Joseph.

Renouncer and Krispy, Do blow the trumpet! Even as we speak of the Watchman's horn, many have fallen victim unaware. The false gospel has taken more than one form. As there are many terminal diseases, so too there are many false gospels. We should sound the alarm for it was made for the well being of the sheep. We should also blow the horn so that those who think themselves sheep will know different. The security they believe they have secured within the walls upon which the watchman stands will afford them no safety if they have been made aware of one danger yet fall prey to another.

Wow. I was wondering if you were still alive Krispy. I havent posted here in quite some time. Poke every once and a while to check things out. I agree. It is our responsibility to expose falsehood. The Lord I believe will hold us accountable. Paul and the early church had to battle many things that were false. We must do no less for deception and error are rampant in the Church.

God Himself will abandon us to deception if we dont intentionally give ourselves to Truth. And re allign ourselves ofen. I trust you are doing well. Grace, Grace to you.
