UK eugenic abortion stats released – thousands killed for Downs, cleft lip, club foot, etc.

After a five-year legal battle, a pro-life group in the United Kingdom has succeeded in obtaining detailed statistics about eugenic abortions from the UK’s Department of Health (DoH).

In total, nearly 18,000 babies were aborted between 2002 and 2010 on the grounds of suspected disability. 1,189 were killed after the upper legal gestational age limit of 24 weeks. The figures show that these include 482 killed for Down’s syndrome in 2010 alone. In the same year, 181 abortions were attributed to musculoskeletal problems such as club foot, while 189 unborn children killed for anencephaly and 128 for spina bifida.

“The Pro-life Alliance is opposed to all abortion at any stage in pregnancy, but terminating the lives of babies at gestational ages when they could survive is always particularly horrifying,” said a spokesman for ProLife Alliance, Julia Millington. ...

I honestly thought the numbers would be higher, taking into consideration that since 1975, there have been MORE THAN 1 million abortions EACH YEAR performed in the United States alone.

But, still, the slaughter of 18 thousand babies is horrifying enough. This massacre is not much different from the Nazi's extermination of the Jews during the 1930s and 1940s.

Shame on our nations. We have only two options: Repentance or judgement.

Hmmm...wonder how long it will be until until mothers will be forced to abort their babies if a abnormality is suspected?

It just may well be that Christians will have to band together to provide medical service apart from any gov aid, working independently. I am told there are birthing facilities like this in Amish communities.

I wrote more but deleted it. This subject gets me upset for many reasons...

As the father of a wonderful young man, Daniel, who has Down Syndrome, I am somewhat aware of these numbers. In the States, 92% of all babies identified with Down Syndrome in the womb are aborted. In two short generations there will be no more Down Syndrome people, a whole race of people wiped out because they are considered inferior. It one more sign of the shallow times in which we live.

Daniel is one of the most loving human beings anyone could encounter. He has a life that is full of joy. He loves to pray and worship the Lord. He is truly color blind, he does not see black or white or yellow or brown, he only sees people. He also talks to a 90 year old and a 20 year old the same way. I have seen him approach " regular," kids just seconds after being teased by them and still want to befriend them. Some of the deepest lessons of my Christianity I have learned from Daniel. I thank God every day for Daniel........... brother Frank

We also have a grandchild that had a birth defect: cleft palate and a harelip. It was really bad...Just thinking about it brings back memories of how the child cried so much because he could not satisfy the sucking craving...In spite of it all, nobody would ever think the child should have been aborted!

Ethan has had several surgeries to repair it and today he looks real good altho' more surgeries will be needed in the future. The child is so smart and he has a skill his grandma does not have - he whistles songs a lot. If you want to know where he is, just listen and you will hear him whistling.

Yes, Ethan is a sweet child...this world would be sorrier place had he been aborted!
