Why does Jesus say "My God" in Revelation?

I've been studying Revelation recently and I came across this verse and am a little bit confused.
Revelation 3:12
"He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name."

Why does Jesus say "My God"? Isn't Jesus also God? Is this a case of His human side talking? (I cringed writing that. I don't want to separate His humanity and divinity, but I don't know how else to put it...) Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think at the time He says that, He has already been glorified and sitting at the right hand of His Father.

Notice in the scripture, Jesus says, 'I will make him a pillar in the temple...'

If Jesus were not God, He could not make anyone a pillar or anything else.

Jesus is God.

John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Even as Jesus is fully God, so His Father is our Father
And His God our God also. Speaking in the first and second person at the same time, you cannot separate God is One, in the Father Son and Holy Spirit. I am in Christ and He is in me. Jesus is in the Father and the Father is in Him. Like putting a sock in the water, the water is in the sock and sock is in the water, they are one. We are in the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit, They are in us. I pray to the Father in the Name of the Son through the Holy Spirit. But I am even as He is a son also. 1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.

Jesus was indeed subject unto the Father and obeyed Him as a human.

"Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec." (Hebrews 5:7-10)

"For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me." (John 6:38)

""Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father" (Galatians 1:4)

Though I'm sure Jesus is fully God, there's something about the Trinity (I know that word's not in the Bible- Godhead if you will) wherein Jesus is subject to the Father even now. Consider:

"Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." (1 Corinthians 15:24-28)

I can't explain it further, but that's scripture. May the Lord bless your meditation and understanding on this topic.

Thank you for that Scripture in 1 Corinthians. It helped a lot. I don't understand it completely, but that's okay. Our God truly is greater than us!

Please consiter thease words.
In John 1...`In the begining, The WORD,was with God and the THE WORD was God'
The Spirit/WORD is God ...HE who speaketh and it is done!
Remember ..in the begining HE Spoke the WORD and it was done!
That Spirit/WORD came into Mary and formed that Presious Baby.
(Jesus) He is NOT the Father ..but is the Son of God.
That Spirit of Jesus,which is the Spirit of the Father enters into us
when we recieve the Holy Spirit,and we become son/daughters of God.

Gal 4:6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts......

1st Peter 1:11 They probed into what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when He testified before hand about the sufferings appointed for Christ and His subsequent glory

Romans 8:9-11
You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.

He is the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ and a distinct Person who raised Christ from the dead.

What Spirit is Born Again in us? I see Christ born again in my spirit by the incorruptable Seed of the Father which is Jesus Christ. The spirit of satan death life no longer has any rights to my spirit, it is now the Spirit of Christ, satan out, Christ life and new nature in.

Where does the Holy Spirit work? I see in John 14,15,16,17, He is working in my soul/mind to teach me what Christ says and will reveal to us when we can handle it. So am I right in assumeing, the Spirit of Christ is life and the Holy Spirit is mover and shaker and giver of that truth, He is the One that is renewing my mind to the Mind of Christ?

Christ= life
Holy Spirit= teacher and revealer of life
New life body= by the Father at resurrection.

This is so hard to keep straight in my mind, but it seems the only way, I can understand new life in Christ with God nature now, and revelation life and power by the Holy Spirit teacher of Christ life bringing us into the Image of Gods Son also now as He is so are we in this world.
