Proverbs 21:13
If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor
he too, will cry out, and not be answered.
The above verse should be a waning to the western church that we can no longer ignore the cry of the persecuted. Some wll argue that this verse only applies to the poverty stricken. But the persecuted are poverty stricken. In Pakistan and Egypt Christians are given the most menial of jobs. In other parts of the world believers are denied access to education to better themselves. They lack the basics of medical services to better their helth. So persecuted believers are poor.
Yet we in America turn a deaf ear to their pleas, even for prayer. I hear believers say I have too many problems. I am too busy. Some believers don't even think their is a persecuted church. That happened in the first century. Persecution does not occur now. Yes, there are people who believe this.
Satan wants us to be silent. He wants our focus to be on other things. I know that there are some on this forum who want me to be silent. But I can no more be silent about thr suffering church than Dr. Martin Luther King could be silent about racial injustice. Particularly in light of the above verse I must cry justice, justice for the suffering church.
Edmond Burke, a noted British statesman, was quoted as saying in order for evil to triumph is for a few good men to do nothing.
I close with this message by Richard Wormbrandt, the late founder of Voice of the Martyrs.
The message I bring from the underground church is
Don't abandon us.
Don't forget us.
Don't write us off.
Give us the tools we need. We wlk pay the price for using them. This is the message I have been charged to deliver to the free church.
Will we hear the cries of the persecuted.
