RE: WHERE THEN IS THE SIN?

ACCORDING TO PSALM 51:5 .... "BEHOLD, I WAS SHAPEN IN INIQUITY; AND IN SIN DID MY MOTHER CONCEIVED ME."

ALSO ... IN HEBREWS 13:4 .... "MARRIAGE IS HONORABLE IN ALL AND THE BED IS UNDEFILED.

MY QUESTION IS THIS.... IF HEBREWS IS CORRECT THEN WHY ARE CHILDREN WHOSE PARENTS ARE SPIRIT FILLED AND MARRIED......
CONCEIVED IN ...."SIN"???

THEY ARE HONORABLE PEOPLE AND THE BED IS UNDEFILED BEFORE GOD AND MAN....SO WHERE THEN DOES THE SIN LAY?

By sin what David referred here is, to be born of the flesh of Adam. We all carry the sinful nature that we inherit from Adam. Jesus was born of a virgin because he should not have any blemish to be a perfect sacrifice. Though Jesus did not inherit the sinful nature he was still tempted in all directions like us. So we born of adamic nature does not give us liberty to sin.

Queencynn: Sree put it pretty well I think. 1 Cor 15:22 says that as in Adam ALL die so in Christ will all be made alive. We are all born under the consequences of Adam's sin meaning that we are all born in sin. The only way any of us can live is through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Every man must be born again if he is to be right with God and inherit eternal life. It is the only way. So there is no contradiction in the two scriptures. The writer of Hebrews is talking about the purity of sexual relations in marriage. He contrasts this relationship with the sexual relationship of the whoremonger and adulterer. It does not matter if a child is born of a pure relationship or if a child is illegitimate, that child will be born in sin and must be born again in order to be right with God. The spiritual condition of the parents has nothing to do with the spiritual condition of the child. We are all born in sin.

I will make a little side note that has been discussed here as well as I can see it as a followup question. I believe a child will not be held accountable for sin until that child receives a knowledge of the fact that they are breaking God's laws. This is what some call the age of accountability and I believe varies with each child.
