Who originally made this quote? I've heard both C.T. Studd and John Wesley. Can you document it?"Some wish to live within the sound of a chapel bell; I wish to run a rescue mission within a yard of hell." If this quote is not quite accurate, please tell me how it was originally stated. thanks

HiI'm 99% sure it was C T Studd. The other 1% says it was General Booth. Definitely not Wesley, not his style at all.I remember it as...Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell,I want to run a rescue shop, within a yard of hell.

Hi Denny,Great to see this quote posted once again. It's a tremendous quote. It's the quote I love the most and it was also one of the first quotes I've ever read.I also am very sure that it is from the hand of C.T. Studd.May this quote be real to us today.

Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell, I want to run a rescue shop, within a yard of hell.Yes thats the correct quote above and it is from C.T. Studd.. I have a small book of his quotes they are great to think upon. He was such a fiery 100% soldout follower of Jesus.. we need more like him today.
