As the crisp autumn breeze fills the midnight air, and the soft light from the moon gently glides down to the empty streets, the crickets bring their nightly praise to be heard by the Lord. And if these things, seen by mortal eyes and heard by mortal ears be ever so sweet, how much more to You O Lord who has made them for the very pleasure of Your own heart…and that You would make me the same for the glory of Your own great Name to bring joy to Your heart, to join this symphony by faithfully playing my part, not as the main piece or the center of it all, but to rate myself insignificant and in my own eyes to always be small, for God, You are the conductor and You are the musician and I merely an instrument in the hands of the Master, my life offered humbly to Your service as a lowly but happy sheep of Your pasture
