Prayer Card For Site Moderator brother Greg and Brandy

sermonindex Oct 3, 2011

Brothers and Sisters,

We are excited about our upcoming wedding Oct 23rd gregandbrandy.com and we are coveting the prayers of God's people. Especially daily and weekly as we will be running the ministry of SermonIndex.net together and trusting the Lord by faith. Brandy is very excited and has a burden from the Lord to help in many ways and I am very blessed by this being the Lords will.

Feel free to download this prayer card image to your computer, print it off, etc. We will have in about 1 week cards to send out to anyone who is interested in praying and supporting us, just email me your mailing address and we will send it off to you.

"Be alert and always keep praying for all the Lord's people." - Ephesians 6:18

Do remember that all of the trouble in the garden started when Adam choose to listen to his wife instead of God.

Also, God did design women to be a help meet - and as such, they are an extremely valuable resource in that area. Unfortunately, as a result, some men tend to get lazy and let the women do all the work - which of course puts the head in the wrong position.

May the LORD bless you both exceedingly, and abundantly. I will be keeping you both in prayer. Oh what a blessing to have a woman sent by God!

I mean all the best for Greg and Brandy appreciate the prayer card.

I must take issue, however, with HeartSong's referring to women in general and Brandy in particular as "an extremely valuable resource" for men. This is a degrading and dehumanizing label which, in my opinion, validates the criticism offered by people against Christians, saying that the church is androcentric and misogynistic. The reduction of any human to a resource or a chattel leads to terrible things.

Lord save me from thinking so lowly of my wife as to call her my "resource", and save any man from thinking of my daughters as "resources" for harvesting, using, and exploiting.

"All of the trouble" starts when men think of women as less than themselves. Greg, for what it's worth coming from a stranger, love Brandy as your equal or your better. This does not abrogate duties and responsibilities but, rather, increases the importance of the husband's task. Ignore those who would degrade her in any way.

This post is submitted with positive intentions. Please don't think me a troll because it is my first post. I have been around here for years, but felt the need to contribute.

Andrew

All resources given of God are to be highly valued as such. They are to be used exclusively to glorify God. To exploit such resources for one's own pleasure, or personal gain, is sin.

Forgive me if something that I said would seem to say otherwise.

Thank you for your continued prayers. Sister brandy has a heart to practice submission as is taught in scriptures and to be a home-maker. She does have great giftings and already in some ways God is starting to use them and her with helping run SermonIndex.net with me. I am blessed because of her namely but also the way God is knitting us together to be in ministry also.

And yes I agree with you HeartSong. I must be the leader of the home and ministry and be hearing from the Lord and being directed by Him. No matter how genuine a sister in the Lord is she could lead astray a brother in certain areas.

Thank you for your continued prayers.

We have been excited and delighted to see what God has been doing with you Greg, and now with your new life partner. We are looking forward to both the wedding and to what will follow after.

Are you going to be at the conference on the fear of God? I see it is the day before your wedding!

Dear brother,

Yes I will be at the conference God willing for the 2 days, I have been down here helping prepare the event for the last 3 months including being in courtship :) God has opened some marvelous doors for this simulcast event including it being on live radio for the 2 days locally in Atlanta.
