Prayer request for my mom...

Brothers and sisters,

My mom had major surgery this week. She had previously had a vena cava filter surgically implanted to help prevent pulmonary embolism.

My mom has had some back problems since a minor car accident when I was a child. She is now in her 50s and has learned to live with some minor discomfort for quite some time. However, there was a risk of a traveling clot, so a doctor advised for this vena cava filter implant.

Unfortunately, this broke apart and has caused her considerable discomfort and pain. A well-known specialist recommended the removal of the implant and the various "legs" that had broken off. Since it was so tiny, it was major surgery and a long operation this past week.

We have been praying for her...and asking others to pray as well. My dad, an aunt and a couple of my sisters are there to assist her. However, since she is in Tennessee and I am in California, I do feel a bit powerless in this...except through prayer. And, of course, I realize that prayer is more effective than if I were there in person.

If possible, please remember my mom in your prayers.

Understandably, my mom has been in considerable pain since the surgery a few days ago. It is one of the worst feelings in the world for a child to see/hear their mother or father in pain.

The doctor said that, if all goes well, she may return home in a few days. However, we are praying that the pain would be manageable (or even gone) by that time.

Yes, she is a believer.

I will be in prayer for you mother. I know it is difficult to see someone you love go through pain but remember JESUS is with her and will never leave her even through this.

Please continue to pray. She was in considerable pain this afternoon...and will likely be in the hospital for at least another five days.

Thank you for your continuing prayers. My dad said that my mom was progressing well. She was experiencing intense pain, but things were better today. In fact, the doctor said that she may be able to go home later in the week.

Please continue to hold her in your prayers.

Update:

My mom experienced quite a bit of pain today. She was given an MRI and set of xrays to see if they could determine the cause.

Please remember her in your prayers, as well as my family. My dad, siblings and relatives are hurting for her.
