INDIA MIRACLE

Subject: INDIA MIRACLEMoses Paulose is a man whose life reads like the book of the Acts of the Apostles. Born in India, he was saved as a teenager and soon gave his life to work of the Kingdom of Christ. Now in his 60’s he has been homeless, without food, beaten and humiliated many times because of his witness for Christ in a culture hostile to the gospel. Like the early apostles, his message has been confirmed with signs and wonders; the lame walk, the blind see and thousands have come to know Christ as savior and Lord. Now he is raising up and training hundreds of Indian believers to continue to reach the unreached villages of India with the gospel of Christ. Several years ago the Lord directed him to a 40 day fast to seek direction for his ministry. On the 40th day of the fast, the Lord Jesus Christ himself appeared to Moses and directed him to establish a mission base in Rameswaram, India (I told you his life was like the book of Acts). Rameswaram is one of the top two Hindu worship sites in all of India. Though the work there has been very difficult and costly, God has provided through one miracle after another to see this work established. Over the past several years they have been working to complete a massive training complex where they will house and train hundreds of missionaries and to accommodate gospel meetings of up to 20,000 people. The compound is located on the way leading to the main Hindu temple. Millions of pilgrims coming to the Hindu temple each year must cross it’s path on their way, opening up massive opportunity for the gospel to reach seeking people. They have met with constant resistance from the Hindu religious community. The work is about 2/3 complete. Last week the Hindu religious leaders were successful in convincing the local authorities to withdraw their building permit, bringing the work to a complete halt. This happened three days before the tsunami. Rameswaram is a tiny island located just west of Sri Lanka between that island and the mainland of India (see map link below). It is right in the middle of the area most affected by the tsunami. When I located it on the map my heart sank as I realized that they were right in the middle of the devastation. I picked up the phone to call their missions coordinator in the U.S. who relayed the following story: At 3:30 AM the morning before the tsunami hit, an elder and respected prophet was awakened to a vision wherein an angel of death appeared to him and told him that Rameswaram had been marked for death and destruction. Keep in mind that no one had any idea an earthquake was about to occur. He immediately alerted Moses and the body of Christ was activated to prayer to plead for mercy and for the Lord to spare them from this fate. They prayed all trough the night. By now everyone knows of the devastation in Southeast Asia. Rameswaram, in the center of the worst damage, was completely unharmed! The only casualties from Rameswaram were people who were not on the island when the tsunami hit. The island was completely spared because of the prayers of the saints and for the sake of the work that He has established there! But there is more. The same official who revoked their work permit came to them after the catastrophe and asked their forgiveness for taking the permit. He asked them for the use of their facility to house the influx of refugees from Sri Lanka, since their building was the only one big enough for the purpose! The ministry is perfectly suited to carry out this task since they have been ministering to refugees from Sri Lanka for years due to ongoing civil war in that country. In the midst of this tragedy God has protected His servants and opened a mighty and effective door for the gospel. This is a ministry, however, that spends every penny it gets on ministry. There are no reserves to meet physical needs of this magnitude. The body of Christ is in a position because of these faithful servants to make significant advances for the kingdom of God, but it will take the prayers and generosity of the worldwide church to seize the moment. There are many relief agencies that one could support at this time. Let me just say that I know these men personally and I KNOW they are faithful servants who will not only take material provision, but with it the gospel of Christ accompanied with signs and wonders. UNICEF can't do that! We need to understand that this is Matthew 24:6-8: And wars will break out near and far, but don't panic. Yes, these things must come, but the end won't follow immediately. The nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this will be only the beginning of the horrors to come. It is no accident that of the 11 nations affected by this disaster, 97% of the casualties occurred in countries where the Voices of Martyrs is actively helping the persecuted church. These countries represent some of the most hostile nations in the world to the gospel of Christ. This was no “natural disaster” but a “supernatural” judgment of God. Yet God is by His own description filled with mercy and compassion. Even in his severity He never ceases to be the God of loving kindness. It is part of His plan which is described in Matthew 24:14: And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then, finally, the end will come. Let us realize the hour in which we live. Pray for the church in Southeast Asia and Rameswaram. Pray for a powerful witness of the love and power of God. Pray that the fear of God will grip these nations and that their hearts will be stirred to repentance. Let me encourage you to give generously NOW to this ministry! Let us rearrange the priorities of our lives, for the days are short. God is moving. The timetables are accelerating. It is time to prepare ourselves and our children for the hour in which we live. I think, if I remember correctly, that Brother Moses Paulose is a GFA(Gospel For Asia)missionary. Their website is www.gfa.org. They as, are all ministries in that area are hard pressed for help. There are some more amazing stories of GOD'S protection during this tsunami there as well.

The island was completely spared because of the prayers of the saints and for the sake of the work that He has established there!I rejoice in the safety of the saints here and am reluctant to inject a discordant note, but the above cannot stand the scrutiny of common sense. What of all the others who prayed and what of all the other works of God which were swept away?I have no doubt that God has graciously spared the saints here, but that word 'because' has no place in any time-based explanation. It asks more questions than it answers.
