Some other interesting things I didn't see mentioned.
1. this is a biggie... ALL Prophets were JEWS FOR Jews. Paul claims to be the last one and since this is so I would highly reject any person who claims to be one today. The prophets job was to bring the UNWRITTEN word of God to His People. Since the Bible is complete now there is no need for another prophet nor is there such thing as an apostle today. TO claim to be one shows disregard for the written word of God. Many want to be so but the correct name would be disciple. I would also reject those who go to Peter for the answers of the Body of Christ. He was a Jewish apostle to a Jewish Nation and as we read in Paul's writings He gave the right hand of fellowship to Paul wherein He (Peter) went only to Israel with the gospel of the Kingdom (circumcision) while Paul went everywhere else (and sometimes to the Jews as well as demanded by Jesus in Acts) with the gospel of the grace of God (Uncircumcision). These two Gospels are different and to different people groups in a time of transition that ended with Acts.. 32 years after the cross only the gospel of grace can save you. Kingdom law will be taught in the trib. but not until the fullness of the gentiles is it to be brought forth. Why>???? Because there is no grace in Law. What a sad day to hear of so many who missed the whole point of the freedom of the cross by going to the wrong prophet for their instruction. There is a reason Romans 11 states that Paul is THE (the only one) who was given to the gentiles. The 12 were Law based (kingdom Gospel) and rightfully so. It was their job to take it to Israel. Acts 11 tells you where they went (to NONE BUT THE JEW ONLY) Please ask questions do not judge me wrong without prayer and questioning. Scripture supports my statement when you follow Gods orders on study (2 Timothy 2:15) Right division of scripture is the only way to study honorably before God. If God says Paul is our Apostle then you might want to make sure you know what his Gospel is (Romans 2:16) your judgement depends on you knowing that his gospel is not the same as the 12. Peters was known and foretold from the beginning of the world. Paul's was HIDDEN until revealed from Jesus through Paul. Different Gospel to a different people group (us)
I was at one time a holy roller must be righteous to be with God. Well friends Holiness in a human is a fairytale. God wants a relationship based on love and trust If you could be holy then Jesus was for nothing. That is saying that a sinner cannot get to heaven. What a untruth...
Acts 13:38,39 is important. How many things are a believer forgiven ??? Read and see.. How many things are not included in "ALL THINGS"? That's right friend. All things means all things.Divorce, fraud, theft, molestation, murder.. ALL THINGS.. The examples of wrong doing (sin) in scripture only point out why we need a savior. It isn't there to make you have a life of condemnation it is there to let you know that Jesus actually became that sin and took it to hell. 2Cor chapter 5 from verse 16 to the end. IF Jesus already took it to hell then you cannot go there after believing the truth. Many will say "watch out you can be lost again" That too id a lie. It is a dispensational thing. They failed to notice what was written to WHOM. They like to go to Places like Hebrews 6 4-6 but fail to see the word Hebrews and also fail to see verse 9. what a sad day for Jesus when people fail to rightly divide the word of God as he demands it.
So how do I know of this? Look at who the Apostles wrote to. James to the 12 tribes scattered among the gentile nations. James also states in acts 20-22 that the Jews were devote believers all zealous of the law (kingdom Gospel)
Peter to the same people (the diaspora) not to the body of Christ but to those same Jews under law. That never changed because Jesus ordered it so in Matthew.
Jesus also commanded that the kingdom gospel NOT be brought to Gentiles (Matthew 10:5-6) That gospel order never changed.
John 1,2 and 3 to the tribes. Not to the Body of Christ although we can glean much from each.

DO an honest comparison of James 2 with Romans 4. Both true, both totally opposite to each other. (do not make spiritual assumptions here) James to the kingdom Jews under Law and Paul to the gentiles without any law.

Rightly divide the scriptures.... Your life will be fuller and the relationship with Jesus better when you understand there really is NO CONDEMNATION TO THOSE WHO KNOW JESUS.

If you know Him then you are to love your life and enjoy the peace He gives you while struggling through this world of distractions...

If Paul is the "last" prophet, why are there many prophets in the Churches along his journey back to Jerusalem? (Presumably who outlive Paul)

If Paul is the "last" prophet, who are the two witnesses in Jerusalem in the last days?

If Paul is the "last" prophet, why is prophecy a gift of the Spirit which Paul says we should all "covet"?

I do agree that with the Bible, no more scripture will be produced in this age. But your argument about the death of prophecy DOES NOT FOLLOW the word.

I believe that the worst contention of your post is that the Gospel to the circumcision was different from the Gospel to the uncircumcision.

To believe this is to ignore Paul's own words that there is but one Gospel. Did Paul pronounce a curse on Peter in Galatians 1:8-9? The difference between Paul's and Peter's message was in the manner of approach, not in doctrine. Paul defines his gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. What he says there is exactly what Peter and the others had proclaimed from the beginning.

I know that some have said that repentance was preached to the circumcision but not to the uncircumcision, but this too flies in the face of Paul's own words, see Acts 26:20 as one example.

Might I suggest that you read an excellent piece published in 1937 by Harry A. Ironside titled Except Ye Repent. It will shed much light on this matter.

The two witnesses are alive and were a thousand years before Paul. They are going to finish their work during the trib but the message is not new, it has been here since the beginning of the world.
Tell me, when Paul states that he is THE LAST as one born out of time. What exactly do you think He meant by that? What do you think about 1 timothy chapter 1:14-16 when He says that He was the first member of the body of Christ and that he is THE example on how to be saved or as he put it example to everlasting life.
The prophets in the churches on his trip were Jewish in the synagogues he traveled and taught in. NOT Gentile Churches void of Jews, IT was a mix. The book of acts is all about the transition from law to grace. Began with Peter and the other 11 and ended with GOD CLOSING THE BOOK ON THE KINGDOM UNTIL THE FULLNESS OF THE GENTILES COME IN.
The answers to your questions are found in the Bible. Especially the writings of Paul. You know, Gods Apostle to you. OR was Romans 11 a lie?
I guess for me the reason I changed my mind on what you claim (And believe me friend Nate that I used to believe the apostolic way you are expressing)Was when I kept reading beyond the texts the preachers were teaching. I found that when you just read the rest of the chapter when people tell you what something means I found they were incomplete and sometimes blatantly wrong. But to see it I had to ask God to show me and reject the teachings of organized religion. It was an extremely hard thing to do. To read the old testament and see Gods guidelines for prophets and later Apostles then the only answer there is is that too many want to be big wigs for God. Many do so out of love for Him and others to control their flocks. I made the statements I made based on the Bible. Rightly divided as God says to do. He is the one who claims prophets were Jewish (with a couple exceptions but even those were SENT only to Jews.

When Paul was discussing Prophesy in 1 Cor. chapter 14
it was during the transition period of the book of Acts. He was writing to a church comprised of Gentiles and Jews and they were running a muck. They perverted the gifts of God and the reason for their existence. They were making a private prayer language out of tongues (and the tongues of the bible are not the tongues we hear today, they were NEVER babble. and they were Jewish in nature). As you know there are three times in Paul's writing that show the gifts as they were present in his time and at that specific moment in time.
The gifts of 1 cor were changing and fading, then Romans then Ephesians chapter 4. The Ephesians group is the closest for what we have today and we need to notice that in 1 cor 14 Paul was discussing abuses of gifts and how they were really to relate to the Jews and not only that the UNBELIEVING JEWS). NOT the believers and as we know the transition of Acts completed a few years after Corinthian Transition periods are important to understand. The confusion goes away when you see the transitions from law to grace.an letters were written and like so many things Jewish they cease when the Bible is completed.

By the way I am not the one who claims Paul is the last , God is. he said so through the writings of Paul.

Normally the answers are dispensational. Jesus being the first Dispensationalist then Paul.
Also just because Paul wrote it does not mean it is still in effect today. For example IF he is who wrote Hebrews it was to the diaspora the Hebrews Not the body of Christ church of today. It will be very important to those saved by 144000 Jews in the trib but not this present church.
Other things also depended on if they were written during the Acts transition years or after. Much changed when Paul said : seeing you Jews deem yourselves unworthy of everlasting life I now go to the Gentile and they will hear it".. Acts finished and kingdom suspended until the Grace Church is completed.

Thanks for the Ironside suggestion I have read his works. I just do not buy his arguments all the time. Stam has some better answers and they are complete, they counter Ironsides and rightfully so. Ironside himself went the other way until peer pressure forced him back to the Baptist community. The book "things that differ" would open your thoughts here.
After reading and studying some 39 translations and the Hebrews and Greek originals I stand by my statements. OF course the gospels were not the same. However after the book of Acts or what I called the transition period of Acts from Peters message to the Jews in Acts 2, to the Gospel of Grace (Acts 16:30,31) and finally the end of the book of Acts which covered 32 years after the cross there absolutely was a change. Once Acts is finished then yes there was only ONE gospel that could save you. Grace.
Peter is the one who claimed his gospel was known from the beginning of the world and Paul is the one who says his was HIDDEN until revealed through him from the risen Lord Christ Jesus after words.

Listen, I understand your objections and until about ten years ago I would have been right there with you condemning me. Thank God for Christ Jesus who changed me when He taught me to study deeper and question everything. I ended up with enough time to study an average of 12-16 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year for several years. (I am disabled Vet and cannot work).
There is so much to learn once you see you may not have been taught all truth.
All one has to do is take the word literally and look at the differences.
Compare Acts 2:37,38 with Acts 16:30,31. One written to the Jews under law and the other to gentiles without the law. Romans chapter 9 as well. these are not errors, both are true. Acts 2 had no non Jews except for those proselytes who had converted to Judaism there.. In fact according to Acts 11 gentiles were not even offered salvation for 11 years after the cross. (Claudius Caesar in power when we are finally involved and that was not until Jan 24th 41 AD.)
It is interesting to find that people are not called Christian until Paul at Antioch. The 12 were called the way.
DO you remember two trips that Paul took to Jerusalem? Both times to let the 12 and the council know what he was teaching to Gentiles... WHY?? because they didn't know. What happens the first time?
They write a letter to us non Jews telling us that WE ARE NOT UNDER THE SAME GOSPEL AS THEY..

Brother there are literally hundreds of Gospels in the Bible.
As Paul sadly declares "if our gospel is hid it is hid to those that are lost"

It is interesting that repentance and water baptism WAS a requirement under Acts 2 Kingdom Gospel and that Paul says "I thank God that I baptized none of you except crispus and gaius ..(both Jewish leaders in their local synagogues) for Christ did NOT send me to baptize.

That is if you take the bible literally. We know that water cannot save anyone today and those that do make sure to mention it is an afterthought not a requirement... Tell me .. when did that change? :-) A difference between the Gospel of the Kingdom and the Gospel of the Grace of God

Very good point. I think that the simplicity of the Gospel is lost when people meander beyond the wisdom of the council at Jerusalem in Acts chapter 15 and, more importantly, the Law of the Spirit of LIFE in Christ Jesus.

The entirety of the Law and the prophets hang on just two commands:

1. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment." - Matthew 22:37-38 KJV

2. "And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." - Matthew 22:39

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets (Matthew 22:40).

Sometimes, when I see believers under a new covenant creating what seems to be a "new Law and the prophets" that that substitute a new list of commands for those found in the Old Covenant, I am reminded about these passages (Acts 15 and Matthew 22).

The Gospel is simple. When a question or debate isn't so simple, I think that it is safe to side with the simplicity of the faith of little children.

God is after our yearning to know Him...to please Him...and to serve Him. It is shocking to see the level by which empire builders will create walls that separate believers according to particular persuasions about what certain passages say. While we should all seek the Truth in every area, this doesn't mean that we can be totally correct in every area on this side of the "glass darkly" of Eternity and then create clones who agree with us.

I have long thought that it would be great if congregations allowed the grace for its members to simply make up their own minds on certain doctrinal peculiarities instead of declaring them FOR them and demanding allegiance or acceptance for the full hand of fellowship (or ministry involvement) to be extended.

Like someone once said, the persecuted church probably doesn't sit around debating what the fourth toe of the beast represents...or whether or not believers can wear blue jeans.

It would be lovely if believers could all return to the simplicity of children...and the devotion that someone holds for their first love.

Simplicity is correct brother. We may have some doctrinal issues between us but we should be able to discuss them lovingly showing with scripture why we believe the way we do. So many times people think that control of their flock is important... to me that is saying the distrust the Holy Spirit to enrich their lives and take care of thing for them in a way that no control could ever do.

I would like to pose a question. Joel 2:28 says "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions"

We know from stories of people in Arab countries receiving dreams of Jesus that the second promise of this prophecy is true for today.

That is a very important question. The answer is simple, this is a prophesy that half came true on the day of Pentecost and then the last half suspended until the fullness of the gentiles. (beginning of the trib). Just as Jesus did when He stood and read proclaiming the day of the lord at hand but the last part of the sentence He did not read because it is for a future time. When Peter spoke this on Pentecost to all those Jews from all the countries of the known world (you did know that it was only Jews and Proselytes ONLY? WE WERE NOT INVITED IN THAT CHURCH)

It was suspended friend and will remain that way until the beginning of the Tribulation when the fullness of the Gentiles will be complete. We are not in a time of magic and mysticism today. The Prophets were always for and about the Jew Not the Body of Christ where there is no such thing as a Jew or Gentile.

The bible has to be our answer and when it states something opposite of our belief and we have correctly divided its meaning being for us specifically (most is not about us it is about Israel) Then our job is to let go false beliefs and relearn the scripture according to God not an apostolic church or a baptist or a pentecostal etc. We are to listen to God.
Jeremiah Chapter 23 verse 16 through the end of the chapter is your answer...

GOD says "I did not send them dreams"
period

IF it were true then Jews all over would be do this not gentiles and certainly not Arabs. This was after all a prophesy concerning the women and men of one nation... the blood relatives of Jacob (Israel)
We know for a fact that this prophesy suspended when God closed out Judaism as a way of salvation in light of Grace wherein lies the truth of salvation for a member of the Body of Christ.
We must always remember that false prophets are everywhere, they always have been and always will be.

Using your logic of people claiming to hear from God as Prophets means that Muslims, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons Joseph Smith are all ok then???

After all they all claim to be Gods Prophets of this day. How do we know they are false unless we go to scripture to balance their claims no matter how good they sound with truth.
The answer is that many people want to please God and think some work or title will make them ok and He will somehow be happier with them.
This is so untrue. You are complete in Christ the moment you believed and you cannot out do this truth. If you are complete in Christ then God sees His son and not through the blood. You cannot be made better or worse with Him.
It was never about you in the first place, it was about Jesus and His finished work. That is the only thing that saves us and it will never be anything else while this Gospel of Grace Dispensation is here.
Important thing is that Grace is NOT how people of the trib will be saved, not as a dispensation of Grace. That concluded with the fullness of the gentiles.
NONE OF JOEL'S PROPHESY IS HAPPENING TODAY>>>>

The sons and daughters spoken of are not US. They are blood relatives of Jacob and NO others. Only a proselyte of the day could possible be included and they cannot save you today. You cannot convert to Judaism to be saved. Why do I bring that up?
Because the rule you mention is Judaism and Kingdom Law (dispensation of law that is closed now).
But that is another issue :-)

I am sorry for taking so long to get back. I promised you I would answer your issues of different gospels.
One issue is that Peter, john etc gave Paul the right hand of fellowship and agreed to take the gospel OF the circumcision to the Jews while Paul takes the gospel of the Uncircumcision to the Gentiles.
It is this issue we discuss...

First we see it was the right of fellowship..
Galatians 2:5-10
5To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

6But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

7But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

8(For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

9And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

10Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do. ...........

So we see that GOd's book is clear that not only were they going only to specific people but it specifically uses the words "Gospel OF"
This means two different gospels.
Actually it is easy to see the differences. The challenge is this:
Go to the 3 synoptic gospels and show me any mention of the cross as a way to save, as Grace as a dispensation being present (watch out for Matthew Chapter 10 verses 5 ND 6 BECAUSE THE PROVE MY STATEMENT)
You cannot find Body of Christ truth in those gospels because it had not been issued yet and "Had satan known of the gospel of Grace then He would not hav crucified Christ on the Cross."
There is no old testament references to it either, only the way gentiles will be saved in the tribulation. By the rise of Israel as the royal priesthood and Holy Nation of God to bring gentiles to God at that time.

But thats another story:-)

Now for your two scripture quotes and issues...

Galatians 1:8,9
8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Brother this is exactly the point.. As we know from Chapter 2 there were people from the Jerusalem council (the 12 as leaders as well as James later) that would sit down with gentile converts. They would ask questions like "how then were you a gentile saved?"
WHen the answer is we are saved by Grace through the finished work of the cross" the visitors would get upset and claim Paul was wrong and that they must follow the LAW to be saved just like the Jews. This is what Paul is talking about. He finds out this is happening, finds those who brought that kingdom gospel to his people and a fight happens. The Jews causing the issue feel that they are right and send Paul back to Jerusalem to answer for his wrong teachings (one proof that the messages were different).
Paul goes and the story can be picked up in Acts. This actually happens twice with the final time being Acts chapter 20-22.

The first time it happens Paul goes before the 12 to explain WHAT HE IS TEACHING the gentiles.... WHY???
Because 1. the message / gospel is different and
2. THE JEWS KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS NEW GRACE MESSAGE.
WHat is the result????
Read Acts Chapter 15 it discusses the reason WHY PAUL Wrote Galatians.

THey right the gentiles this letter... :Acts 15:19-30
19Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

20But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

21For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

22Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

23And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia.

24Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

25It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

26Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So you see Brother that "I marvel so soon that you follow another Gospel which is not another..." He is referring to that which is fading away... The gospel of the kingdom"
It will be preached during the trib but it is not our gospel... I know where you are going to go and I am happy to discuss Matthew with you later.....
Paul is telling them that yes the Jews have different rules for salvation but that it was not possible for them to be saved by them. Not anymore... Different gospel. Yes based on Jesus but the building is different
The Jews building is based in Law as Jesus commanded in Matthew Chapter 23. that order was what the 12 were doing faithfully.. Taking the gospel of the Kingdom to the blood relatives of theirs... Just as Jesus ordered them. They did not know their gospel was fading and being replaced. It was not their job to change to the gospel of Paul's which came from the risen Lord in Heaven to the world.....

1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

A new gospel, first preached to those of the Corinthian peoples.... Never before preached, never known before.... Just as scripture says.... hidden from the foundation of the world until revealed by Jesus Through a new Apostle, the ONE APOSTLE WE HAVE... PAul....
WHy didn't Jesus use the 12? Because they had a different mission.. they went therefore into all the nations of the world preaching the gospel of the Kingdom...

Interesting here... Peter had just returned from Cornelius.. the first time a gentile was taught anything about Jesus but Not our gospel... Cornelius was already saved as a proselyte... how do we know? because he was already a "devout man of God"/

why is this important? because it means NEVER WAS A GENTILE offered Jesus before that date meaning Acts 2 is the wrong church and time for the Body of Christ to have begun. We were first called Christians at Antioch..

So anyway... is ok that you assume things differently than I . I was Baptist and later Pentecostal .. it wasn't until God set me down and made me listen to Him that I lost the lies they taught mistakenly. They were honorable but mistaught themselves....

Brother you are way off and you trying to prove otherwise is not very becomimg... The gospel of Paul is the same as Jesus'. Theology will choke a man.

Acts 15:9 needs to have the whole chapter added to get the rest of the story. IT is true that salvation is by faith. That is not the issue. The issue is this: what must I do to prove that faith?"

To a Jew under the law as the 12 and the all the thousands of Jews who believe and were zealous of the law (acts 20-22) this law program they were zealous of was the gospel of the kingdom and grace is not there. what is there?
well to prove their faith they had to do works.. this is why they were still doing temple worship some 26 years after the cross and they continued until God took the temple away in 70 A.D.

The Jews did not understand that their gospel was fading away and their building of kingdom law was crumbling. They did not know what Paul was telling Gentiles on how to be saved. We know this from the record in Acts and Galatians.
He absolutely DID distinguish between them and us until 32 years after the cross when the middle wall of partition fell and the Jew was knocked off their pedestal ... this is how God finished and fulfilled the law. He could not close the book on it until the Jew fell.... (temporary fall, they will rise again in the trib.

The very text you use in Acts 15 proves there were 2 gospels going on at the time and that WE GENTILES were NOT to follow the law like they were instructed in doing...

Just take it at face value and understand that transitions were happening...

I agree that today there is only one gospel that saves. My point is that you cannot find it in Peters writings, James's writings, the book of Hebrews or the 3 synoptic gospels....

Why??

Because Jesus was dealing with Jews only during that time. He had to do the jot and tittle, He had to complete the law before the book could be closed on it...

It was 32 years after the cross before the final things happened and all mankind was offered salvation on an individual basis. No Jew no gentile, No male , no female, no bond no free... just people... one on one with God and if they choose Jesus before they die they remain in the tree of Romans 11 a.. if they die rejecting Him they are broken off to be burned where the worm dies not....
