There is much clamoring about money these days. Everyone is upset about who's got it and who wants it. All this economic discontentment in the world today can make it's way into our own outlooks if we aren't careful. How easy it is to lose our peace envying other people, or worrying about bills or imagining that we will have no security in old age.
And, when discontent or frightened over money worries, how easy it is to lose sight that God watches over us, even while we are asleep!
Never Will I Leave You lyrics by Michael Card
Trust in Me,
Keep your life free,
From what the love of money will do
Am I not enough for you?
Never will I leave you,
That's something I'll never do.
Forever remember that it's true,
Never will I leave you.
When you fear,
The scars and tears.
Remember what I have sworn,
I'll be with you through the storm.
And when you fear,
That's when I'm near.
Your soul's security,
When will you believe?
Never will I leave you...
1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Psalm 62:10
...though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
Proverbs 15:27
A greedy man brings trouble to his family, but he who hates bribes will live.
1 Timothy 6:9
People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
Mark 4:19
but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.
Blessings saints,
