Thomas Two-Soul

Thomas two-soul attempted to pray
But struggled in vain as his thoughts went astray
scenes from the movie he’d seen night before
kept flashing the images over and o’re

He wrestled to make his soul quiet and still
But his thoughts ran amuck through his unstable will
Frustrated with his own meandering mind
He gave up on prayer something better to find

He popped in a CD and soon with soul fed
was feeling much better stretched out on the bed
He picked up his bible hoping now he could read
But his wandering thoughts caused him soon to concede

With computer at hand just a mouse click away
Thomas checked out the news feed on facebook that day
Not having a clue his meandering mind
He created himself by choice just like this kind

If we live like Thomas two-soul we will find
Sowing to the flesh reaps an unstable mind
When provision we make to feed soulish desires
We’re quenching the Spirit and His holy fires

Brilliant! It speaks volumes and is easily recognisable and relational.

We want God, but at too cheap a price. We want the world and God. Not so much God, only without Him, we cannot make it in to heaven. But, how we long for the world and its distractions from God.
