I will pray for you, Reformer....Remember your Spurgeon quote, "It is not your hold of Christ that saves you, but His hold of you." He will complete the work which He began in you....

Dear Brother,

It is never a sin or disgrace to admit where we are. Jesus says, Come as you are, and He means it. He loves our honesty.

That is your first step. As it was with the prodigal son.

It is easy, Jesus made it easy for us. Go to Him in your quiet place, alone with Him and cry out to Him telling Him your heart of longing to come back, confessing your state and then read the Gospel of John. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Jesus is there with a heart of compassion and a heart of forgiveness. Just come, He says.

And when you feel and know His love and forgiveness He says, go and sin no more. It is His great love and forgiveness that will cause you to not want to sin anymore or be far from Him. It is the glorious Eyes and Heart of compassion He has for you that will melt your heart.

I will be holding you up in prayer as well as you "come" to the Throne of grace and mercy and pour yourself out to Him.

You are so precious to Him dear Brother. He loves you dearly and He will never turn away your broken and contrite heart. NEVER. So, come to Him.

The liar and murderer is at work. Yours is to repent and believe God for what He says and not let Satan do what satan does best. You know this already my brother and I know if it were me, you would remind me also. You would say to me, "repent and believe Christ for what He says". You would say," If God has forgiven you, if you repent, can anyone accuse you"? If I said I don't know how to approach God because I don't consider myself worthy, you would tell me, who is? You would say,"Only Christ is worthy and on Him you must place your trust and not your worthiness. You would tell me not even think about earning my way back to Christ, for that is impossible. You would tell me to stop sinning and confess my guilt before my Lord and Savior and know that it is the devil accusing me and lying to me so that I will look to my worth and not Gods. Do not feel alone. Satan uses this trick masterfully. Finding a chink in the armor, he directs the blade so as to open a larger entry. I have seen even pastors believe this lie and walk away from God because it made them look to themselves for what is impossible to provide. Worthy is the Lamb and Him alone! These men knew Christ to be more powerful than satan but they turned their eyes on themselves as though they could muster up enough goodness in themselves to be acceptable to God, they believed the lie. I will pray for your strength, but understand what is going on. It is just a proficient way that satan works when the saint has taken his eyes off the master and not crucified the flesh daily. Do not think their is any other saint that has not been deceived by this same technique of the evil used on them in one way or another. God is not robbed and the evil one will pay dearly for messing with the bride of Christ.

Run to Christ immediately. All the other posts are right as well. Satan would have you stay away, stay in sin and remain bound in chains to your sin. But look Unto Christ Who is able to forgive you by His precious blood; set you free; and make you whole. Go to Him the only way possible, humbly on your knees, confessing all your sins to Him Who is not willing that any shoudl perish. Tozer declared, 'Where you lost God is where you will find Him. If you lost Him in prayer, then go back to the prayer chamber; if you lost Him in Bible reading then go back to reading'
'I haven't given you a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind'.
Look at the cross and see His love for you and the atonement for your sins.

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble....It is good that you have taken this step. None of us wants to admit to having fallen. A truth that we heard preached once, and that we have raised our children on is this: "The power of sin is in its secrecy".....I am not by this, saying that we should air all our dirty laundry before the world, but I believe we are greatly helped when we are able to share with a godly Christian friend or two.....Continuing in prayer for you...
