yeah, that is why i was wondering, the bio on his website lists involvement with several interesting ministries but it appears that he did not stay in them.

hi, i will tell you that davids father thought that the K.C. fellowship was a great thing and real revival and ministered there himself. i thank God that i was never called to be the judge of others because i have enough to answer for in my own life and will stand before a holy God naked and alone. i dont want to answer for all the negative judgement toward others to make my judgement more severe for whatever measure you meet out will be measured back on you in that day.jimp

hi jimp, sorry i didn't mean to come across as judging brother ravenhill (if that is what you were implying? not sure), or if you mean my statement regarding mike bickle and bill johnson. regarding the former (david ravenhill), i was actually wondering if he was a part of, for example, the KC fellowship, before or after all the controversy and if he perhaps left due to such issues. if it is regarding the latter (bill johnson and mike bickle) i stand by my statement. now please don't get me wrong, i am not taking that position because i am a cessationist (just in case you were assuming that), because i am not. i personally believe that the gifts are still operative today, but i do not believe in the excesses and weird manifestations that are being heralded as the work of the Holy Spirit in the current "charismatic" movement, which i believe a lot is actually sensuality masked under the veil of spirituality. i was actually very immersed in all the ihop and bethel stuff, but began to question a lot of it as i found much of the teaching not to fall in line with what i was learning in scripture and so my spirit grew more and more troubled (which of course i admit is still subjective). and as my church is currently heavily influenced by these ministries, i have been seeking the Lord in prayer and seeking His heart on the matter. i am just concerned that the 2 thessalonians 2 verse regarding the "great delusion" might actually be happening now, because so many (not all) in these movements seem to love the "gifts, blessings, manifestations, etc" more than God Himself which is so true of the times we are living in, where we seek instant gratification and whatever appeals to the flesh or the soul, but not the spirit. there is a HUGE HUGE emphasis on the "supernatural encounters" as having "true intimacy" with God within these ministries (i know because i used to follow their teachings and see people who are influenced by it). it has been a very difficult season for me especially because i find myself not being able to participate with everything going on at my church and instead find myself with a heavy and broken heart. i admit that i do not have perfect knowledge and can be wrong on a lot of things, but i thank God for His discipline in my life, to lead me to all truth as promised =)

i would greatly appreciate if you could keep me and my church in prayer, that we (including myself) would be one that is pleasing to Him in all things.

hi, i was not judgeing you at all for this wave came through a church i was involved with and it was not of the Lord. it exalted man and his emotions and was very much out of order.i left this church but prayed for the dear people there and have seen over the years a move back to sanity and evangelism.i love the pastor there and my best friend in that metro area is the head usher to this day. we wrestle not against flesh and blood.jimp
