the woman who ran into the tsunami

Of all the images of this disaster this is the one that upset me most. Some of our UK papers featured several pictures of this woman running against the people evacuating the beach. The succession of pictures showed the mounting wave and one woman running in the opposite direction to everyone else.Love, did that. A genuine mother love is one of the powerful things on earth. It seemed she was running into certain death but would not give up. This is wonderful news that she and her family were preserved alive, but the image, like that of the burning girl on the Vietnamese bridge will be imprinted on my mind for ever.The girl 'fleeing for refuge' and the mother 'choosing certain death for those she loved'. Out of such horrors come pictures of Christ and those who turn to Him.

Dear Ron,The lightness of earlier post's here are tempered with this reality.How it brings out the longing for the Lords return even with the gut wrenching realizing that so many are still lost... Brother Ron thank you for sharing that account. It does really bring a somberness to this morning for me. I know the context of what you are trying to express a truth about Jesus but I had a picture of something drastically different and even though it doesn't fit into the truth of the story I feel compelled to share it.Luke 21:26 (NKJV) - men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.There seems to be a perplexity and lose of common sense to individuals found in the last day scenario without God. Something of a running headlong into eternal destruction not knowing any better. Seeking to find life but in a sense losing it. Only those who have lost their life will save it.. Our life is hid in Christ with God. Christ is coming again will we be found in Him?
