Her Mother gave the following message to us
"At around 1am this morning I whispered something to Charly about it being okay if she was scared. She summoned all of her strength to reach up and cup my chin in her hand and whisper "I am not a scaredy cat". She dropped her hand into her daddies and squeezed his thumb. Through our tears we told her how much we loved her, the way we have done for as long as I can remember "I love you to the moon and back, infinity times" and eyes closed Charly mumbled in reply, as she always has done; "love you to the door and back..... infinity times.... same distance". Then she tugged on Jacks arm, pulling him in close and slowly drifted back to an uneasy sleep. We are stunned that she was able to muster so much strength but are so thankful and honoured that she did.
She has not opened her eyes or responded to us since, her grip on our hands finally relaxed around 7am and shortly after her breathing became far more shallow and infrequent, it is accompanied by terminal congestion commonly known as the "death rattle". It's not going to be long now, please just pray for comfort and a peaceful passing.
We are praying for her to let go, to be out of pain, but with all my heart I am dreading that last breath"
A follow up message was received at 1.08 am CET which just said " She's gone"
Those who knew this little girl are heart broken and take consolation in the fact that we are not told not to sorrow, but to not sorrow as those who have no hope.
The family of Charly need your prayers to help with their grief.
