Doctrine of Apathy

I went to a Christian websites the other day to post on their forum (I had seen the front page, and in my foolish naiviette thought was wholesome). To make a long story short, this website taught the doctrine, in a round about way, that God will reconcile ALL men unto himself. REGARDLESS of their final decision to turn away or not. They even claimed that "eternal" and "punishment" are mistranslations, and to make a smokescreen clear - that God only chastises and corrects those people for a season, but is still welcome into Heaven. Yet, these people talk about evangelism and witnessing to people. However, when I spoke of praying for another Student Volunteer Movement they said to not get too worried because we can't possibly spread the gospel throughout the world - so God will draw ALL men unto Himself. No matter if they accept it or not. They speak of a new age, seperated people that will not have the boundaries of the flesh to hold them back from evangelizing the world. Twisted and sick....But I saw the WORSE thing in this was LAZINESS! Utter and complete apathy! Completely ignoring the Great Comission to GO into all the world. This doctrine leads to moral relativism - what's right for you is right for you, and what's right for me is right for me. Now my point is not to rant at you all. It would unprofitable to come on here and wag my tongue at every false doctrine and teaching. This scripture has been stirring in my heart and soul and mind - and I swear I can feel it churning in my gut. It's found in Titus 1:10 thru 2:10 Alot of people just stay on the last part of chapter 1 about rebuking sharply and stopping the mouths...But we are to rebuke sharply as to make them sound in faith. How do we do that? It's drawn out for us in Chapter 2:1-10.My point is short and simple: let's not let false teaching go unchallenged and unexposed to the light. [b]But don't go in uninformed[\\b] - make sure you know what you are talking about.

I think ?was it Hanna White who eventually adopted this heresy too? In modern days Pearson,I think has a varing form it too. I'm also seeing a re-emergence of the Doctrine of total annilationism, which says that after a while thoughs in hell are completely annihilated ,which I believe is part of the JW's teachings. Alot of things creeping into to the church.

I knew that the JWs taught annihilastionism or conditional immortality but not that they believed in a period of punishment.

I've talked to several leaders in the movement here in Ohio and get varing belief-doctrine stances , but I haven't been able to nail down an official JW position from thier NY office. They seem to remain distant as to some of thier official positions when you try to inquire of them specifics. If I can find some I'll post it here.

You know in Islam they belief is that people can save themselves by their works. In addition those who go to hell are only there for time enough to atone for whatever sins their works could not cover and then they go to heaven. What better way for the devil to ensure that is not alone in hell than to make it seem like there is a way out. I think perhaps part of why people think that GOd will reconcile all men is the thought of what heaven would be like without certain people. Christ said something to the effect of working through those whom God has given to Him (as many as my father gives me) so clearly there will be some who will not be reconciled. We should just let God do as He sees fit without interference. I'm sure we will find that He works in ways far different than we first thought or even dreamed. I know I have

I checked with the Ny office of the JW's and found that they do i deed believe in total annilationism and teach it. They did indicate that there is some latitude in that teaching so it might be just an isolated case here in Ohio from a couple of the area JW ministers.
