Can we talk about Jesus?

M
MrBillPro Dec 7, 2011

I know anytime is a good time to talk about Jesus, but I thought this is a great season to just talk about Jesus.

You know, I really am not sure what is going on in my walk with Jesus, but I seem to just cry a lot lately. It's really a cry, because I just think more about all the things he has Blessed me with in my life, that I never deserved. Maybe it's because I am older "60" I am not sure, or maybe it's because he just see's something in me I don't, and it effects my Spirit. I really did not know were I was going with this thread, but I guess that's a good thing, I feel most of the time we don't know the what or why's it's truly something that's spirit lead. Lets just talk about Jesus.
God Bless
Mr. Bill

Hello MrBillPro,

Good subject to discuss. :)

How wonderful it is that we have such a unbeatable God who is willing to fight our battles. Certainly we know if God is doing the fighting - He will attain the goal He wants.

This last month we called AT&T and asked about upgrading our DSL speed. They changed our whole service package and 'said' the monthly rate would only increase by a few dollars. Of course that was not true. This months bill was frightful and totally out of the realm of our budget. Before calling to 'discuss' the issue I prayed and asked God to fight the battle for us, since I am aware I could not handle it. Let me report that he resolved it all in our favor and we still have the new faster service. In the past when dealing with them things did not go anywhere as well. That was because we forgot Him and tried to manage things on our own. Thank God for teaching us to allow Him to fight the battles.

Praise Jesus,

Thank you for the post brother.

Jesus is good. In all that He does, He is good.

When I falter and begin to move away, He allows for me to go through trials in order to bring me back to Him. When I become prideful, He allows me to be humbled, in order to move back to Him. When I begin to worry about life, He steps in to remind me that He is in control and that I am not. When I am broken hearted, He comes to comfort me through His love. When I walk through trials, the Lord allows me to be tested and tried, in order to grow in strength in Him. When I cry, the Lord hears my cry and prayer, and accepts my prayer.

He is good. The Lord is good. All that the Lord does is good. I am humbled and amazed that He would call me His own. Psalm 6:8-9, "...For the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping. The LORD has heard my supplication; The LORD will receive my prayer."

James Smith says it better then I....

I would have destroyed God if I could — and have blotted His name out of creation! The language of my heart and life was, "No God for me!" My heart was filled and fired with enmity against Him, and at times I could have cursed Him to His face!
I hated His law.
I despised His gospel.
I abhorred His people.
If I could — I would have crushed His cause!

How astonishing that such a wretch was allowed to live!

How astonishing that God had not crushed me by His power, and sentenced me to Hell!

But, O the longsuffering, the patience, and the sovereign grace of God! He bore with me. He loaded me with his benefits. He determined to win me with His love. Nevertheless I sinned yet the more, and provoked Him with my ungodly conduct. O how surprising that I am not in Hell! Surely there are many already in Hell — who were never such great sinners as I have been!

But, the Lord is good, ready to forgive, and plenteous in mercy unto all those who call upon Him. He put a cry into my heart, He listened to that cry, and made me a new creature in Christ Jesus. He unveiled my enormous wickedness before the eyes of my mind, which filled me with confusion, despondency, and shame. He laid me in the dust, and seemed to doom me to despair. He . . .
crushed my proud spirit,
destroyed my infernal enmity against Him,
and melted me into contrition with His love.

Yes Bro., In season out of season shall we,

This Jesus, He is my very best friend,
The lover of my soul,
My hiding place and refuge and ever present help in trouble.
He is the hope of my future He keeps His promises.
He is my rock and never failing anchor than holds me in place. My place is in Him.
He is all I desire and desire Him more.
He is my blessed Redeemer and joy of my soul.
He sticketh closer than a brother my First love.
I am His daughter, sister and bride.
I am everything to Him and He is everything to me.
He loves me I know.
I love him.
He is big enough to share the love I now know.
He is the love I share.
I am never rejected. Always forgiven.
He is my couselor, comforter and guide
He is the most precious and favored topic of all conversations.
He will one day be All of me, I will be all in Him for eternity.
The song I sing the air I breathe.
My every hope and expectation, He never dissapoints
He is like the sky to me, always there.

He is more than these very frail very frail words.

Yes, yes, let us just talk about JESUS.

Thank-you, Mr Bill

Amen! O' Amen!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus and look full to His wonderful Face and the things of the world will grow strangely dim in the light and glory of His grace.

Turn our eyes upon Jesus.

In my life I can praise Him because I found out it is so very true that the more I spend time with Him, the more I long and seek to know Him the more the desires and things of the world grow strangely dim. And He has become my magnificent obsession.

The sin I once found myself in - I am there no longer.
The wants I once had - are no longer there.
The more I am in the Word and alone with Him the more I want of Him and our time together.

I worship God for He is all together lovely. We were created to have fellowship with Him. If we will seek Him with our whole heart He says we will find Him. Seek Him while He may be found. Sit at His feet and learn of Him. Mary has chosen the better.

In His Presence is where I long to be.

If Jesus be lifted up He will bring all men unto Himself.

Praise God Brothers and Sisters, lets lift up the King of Kings and Lord of Lord's all throughout this forum the Lord has blessed us with.

Hallelujah to the Lamb of God. It is finished. Now it is time to seek His face.

All glory to God!

Wonderful post, MrBillPro.

Of late, I have not enjoyed as much closeness to Jesus as I once did, and it scares me to death, to say the least. I know that by His grace, I will overcome this insurmountable wall of spiritual dryness, but I still shudder when I ponder the possibility of a life not lived close to Him.

I recently learned that the hymn "My Jesus I love thee" was written by a 16-year old. :0 Anyway, the third verse says a lot of what I am feeling at the moment:

I’ll love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,
And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath;
And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow,
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

My love for Jesus is not because I, in my natural being, have love for Him; I love Him because by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the Father enables me to love His son. I love Jesus because He paid my unpayable debt, because He laid down His life, because He continues to love and guide me regardless of my weaknesses. I love Him because He is God, because He has blessed me with the ability to fellowship with Him; I love Him because He is Holy.

PS.
I saw this link in the "My grief over this forum" thread.

There's a lot of times I just realize what He's done for me, and I'm just completely overwhelmed. Just where I am right now and what I'm doing is too much. When I tell Him "thanks," even from the bottom of my heart, that never seems enough.

What blows me away about Jesus, is that no one loved men and women like He did. Everytime I read the Gospels I am amazed or interact with men and women daily, I sense the love of God in my spirit for them. If people only knew how much He loves them.

The world was turned upside down in the 1st century not because of dogmas, creeds or a new awesome religion, but because of the presence of Jesus Christ in the lives of His disciples.

He is Love.

sermonindex Jan 14, 2012

Amen Pilgrim! The world is turned upside down by supernatural love. The presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, burning in the hearts of the saints, sets the world on fire. This passion, this fire that burns in us, lights us up and sets us up as a city on a hill. There is a fire that burns in the hearts of every disciple of Jesus. When people are touched by the love of Jesus they are amazed that He could love one such as them. Those who are sick and need a doctor (Jesus) devour the medicine of love and mercy and forgiveness. To be an effective witness for Jesus, for the world to see a demonstration of Jesus in us, we must be conduits of His mighty love. This love, this love for the world, is not natural. Its from God Himself. Its the very essence of why He sent His Son to die. Praise the Lord Jesus...........bro Frank

Yes, Pilgrim, and one other thing about Him....there is NO one else like Him! If you take a look at all the other gods...there is NO comparison. The book of Isaiah especially seems to bring this out.

I too, so much love to talk with God' people,..the Body ,about Jesus.
I believe , that is the way He made our desire to be.It helps us,..it builds us up in Him ,..it encourages us to be more like Him,...our walk to be strengthened in Him.
But , don't we think , that it would be an insult to Him,..and a grief to Him and a false belief toward Him, if we did not see Him always as A / The Living Word, and the responsibility that ,that Word brings.

Blessings,
Elizabeth

What I find so special about Him is His Prescence.
It is the most satisfying place.
Sadly I don't go there very often,
but when I taste and see,
I wish that I could drown here,
in this deep Love.

Just now as I was reading the post, I became slowly aware of His Prescence and I felt like the woman that stood at His feet weeping,
so aware of her failure,
yet so powerfully drawm.

For with Him there is fullness joy,
eternal pleasures at His Right hand.
There is living water,
abundance of bread.
Sweet perfume,
and oil for my head.

My daughters say I am so tough,
they never see me cry.
But as my heart slowly melts
His sweet peace wells up in my eyes.
Because from me is drawn such gratitude,
thanksgiving, hope and praise.
when I look up to Him on His throne,
here in this holy Place.

Bless You Lord!
