ACLU Sues S.C. School for Promoting Christianity

sermonindex Dec 8, 2011

The American Civil Liberties Union is suing a South Carolina school district for unconstitutionally promoting Christianity.

The ACLU filed the suit on behalf of Jonathan Anderson and his son, a student at New Heights Middle School. Both are atheists.

The student in the case claimed he was given the option to attend a New Heights Middle School rally featuring a Christian rapper and a youth evangelist, or face in-school suspension.

If the allegation is true, that the student would be suspended if he did not attend, the school district was asking to be sued.

If the allegation is correct, in my opinion, the school district stepped way out of line.

Something doesn't add up it seems though...

I smell a rat here... there is more going on. Either that or the school superintendent is totally off his rocker.

Even if I could legally require all students to attend, I wouldnt.
