Romans 10:4 - The Ultimate Result

Christ completed a fulfillment of the law's requirements providing a justified and righteousness standing for every one who believes. - Adaptation from an interlinear Greek-English Bible:

For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. - New Living Translation.

The law needed to be fulfilled in a spiritual sense going beyond the letter of the law. The verse does not speak of abolition of law or abolition of all standards of the law. It isn't there.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. - Romans 8:2.

If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, you do well. - James 2:8.

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. - Galatians 6:2

That would depend on who's faith they were operating under. Then after arriving, the Law still did not have eternal life and could not produce the New Creature in Christ, which is eternal.

Galatians 3:21-23 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise ((((by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.)))) But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

This could have made Israel's pursuit of the law prosperous, that is, the faith that came afterwards, after what, revealed after the cross. It does today for both Jew and Gentile.

In Christ by the faith given to us who believe:

Galatians 3:25-27 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

This is not water baptism, but the baptism John spoke of by Jesus Christ.

now when one is brought forth again and placed in to Christ ,this law is brought to an end through union with Christ ,,

our sin for his perfection

fruits of holiness are the evidence of true justification
practical sanctification is inevebitly attached to justification one way or another

but what piper is saying is that even our obedience worked out through holiness ,will not attain justification or salvation ,,it is not perfect but flawed ,and god doesn't accept our life as an a atonement for our passed present or future sin and failures ,,

god has always required an atonement for our sin ,and he has before the foundation of the world prepared the lamb of god for his day of slaughter to atone for the sin of his elect ,, salvation is completely a free gift that we have know power to earn by obedience

paul said to titus it is not by works of righteousness' which we have done ,,but by the washing and renewing of the holy spirit

Christ is the ultimate gift as a result of not our feeble ability to keep the law of moses of the laws of the new covernet but as a result of grace through faith and that not of our selfs it is the gift of god not of works ,LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST

lest not try to replace the gift of his grace and the death of his son ,with faith in our selves ability's to be holy or obedient ,

let us say with paul ,,,,,looking unto Jesus who is the author and the finishers of our faith

and he who began a good work in us will finish it till the day of Jesus Christ

let us rember the cross and trust in god and his son ,and the blessed holy spirit for justification and salvation and sanctification of our souls and have no confidences in the flesh

brother I think what the verses are saying in short

the jews wanted to be justified by there own righteousness by the deeds of following the law of moses

they perused A LAW of self righteousness

and they did not attain to righteousness because paul said through the law comes the knowledge of sin and not justification through pefect conduct and obedience

so the scripture is saying ,israle pursuing to become righteous in the eyes of god ,did not attain to that standing before god

why did they not attain righteousness
because the bible says and the righteous shall live by faith ,and that faith is in the grace of god and and gods works ,,,,not faith in our own performance ,as the Pharisees

the stumbling stone was the means by the gift of faith comes ,for god said he deals to each man a measure of faith namely each believer ,,

and the stumbling stone was where the actions and works of god were manifest ,namly in the cross ,the substitutionary atonement and ministration of the spirit ,,and rightenous of god in Christ

they stumbled and this stone and persued self righteousness and fell short of the glory of god in every way ,,instead of performing the deeds of a desperate thrust of a helpless soul ,in the arms of an almighty saviour , with a broken heart and a contrite spirit

I think what im trying to say even if Israel had faith they still would not have been justified by the law of moses ,In the contex of arriving at the law

The Epistle of Jude in our New Testaments was written to warn against those who "turn the grace of God into lasciviousness or wantonness" (Jude 1:4) where it doesn't matter how a Christian lives. . This same epistle directs us to "keep ourselves in the love of God" (Jude 1:21) and this refers here to our love for God. We don't need to do anything to keep ourselves in God's love for us. We need to love God more.

Jesus plainly said: If you love me, keep my commandments. Doctrines promoting easy faith and false assurance are rampant in our Christian societies and times. Do we love the Lord Jesus Christ? Then seek the new birth and obey him.

Seek first the kingdom of God. In any kingdom, the lord and king is obeyed.

As men and women repeat theirs sins rather than repent of their sins, God is dishonored and people get hurt. The church, Christ's Body, when more sinful and less pure is less glorious and less effective. Sin is not a victimless crime. New sins generate new dishonor to God and new harms to our neighbors. Seeing sin and lack of faith, love and obedience among Christians, multitudes turn away from Christianity and do not turn to Christ.

The importance of obedience and good works is proclaimed abundantly by our Bibles but suppressed by our man-made theologies.

Read, weep, repent, believe, obey, believe some more, obey some more, abide, bear fruit. According to the abilities that God has given to you, repent, repeat your obedience and not your sins. Revival tarries.

I ment brother in comparesment with us being justified by by imperfect life after conversion ,, his rightesness imputed and the his spirt imparted and the out working of those principals we can rest with asurence and be garneteed that ,thoses things are exceptable to god

knowing that it is god who works in you both to will and to do for his goood pleasure (paul)
