ABBOTSFORD, CANADA, March 1, 2012 / Christian Newswire/ -- In the Evangelical Christian world there are few things that remain hidden to many as a great resource and treasure to the church. One of these hidden treasures to some is the website ministry of SermonIndex.net. This online ministry began very humbly just about 10 years ago when the founder Greg Gordon in his parents home ran across a book of Leonard Ravenhill's and when impacted by the message started to get this late preacher's sermons online. "I never really considered the website a ministry for the longest time; it simply began as a hobby," states Greg, "Only after the first million sermons where downloaded and many testimony letters came in that I realized God is powerfully using this website for His glory."

This "hobby" has now become one of the premier websites on the entire internet to receive free audio sermons by some of the best classic preachers from the past. Currently to date you can access literally hundreds of sermons from the famous preachers such as: A.W. Tozer, Leonard Ravenhill, David Wilkerson, Carter Conlon, George Verwer, Art Katz and many more. After almost 10 years of ministry, the website has expanded not only to host sermons but to run over 10 international conferences on revival where the attendance was free. Greg feels the style and burden of ministry is different than many other Christian organizations in the West: "I felt since the beginning to try and run the ministry for the lowest amount of resources while still maintaining the great impact for the kingdom." Perhaps unorthodox in some ways, Greg states some of the goals and principles of the work: "God told me never sell any of the sermon materials and to allow them to be copied for free personal use and free distribution." He continues, "We have never begged for money and have rarely made our needs known trusting God for all that is required to run the website and its outreaches."

To-date the website gives access to over 20,000 audio sermons in the mp3 format which can be downloaded to your computer or any modern media player. SermonIndex also offers materials in video, text and even some old vintage images of some of the classical preachers listed. Bless God!!! in Messiah Jesus, i'm so proud of you Greg, and feel privledged that in MANY ways, you and i have "grown up" together IN Christ, listening to the same men of God together, "working things out" together on this most difficult way to communicate, the internet.

all the moderators, wonderful brothers, ...all the saints, who are here, many of whom, i've had the blessed occasion to speak with, develop kinship with.....all the saints that have left, who have been dearly loved, and that love in Christ continues....

you know whats kinda neat? the fact, here we have this internet, which is used for so many ungodly things, yet Jesus redeemed it thru such sites ...ministries as this one!!!.....and when we write to each other..posting?...do you know what it reminds me of, but with a 21st century rub?

the same way, say Paul would write an epistle to a church in God, he would use....maybe papyrus....or possibly parchment, with quills, or a stylus, and the ink would be crushed charcoal and oil...i'm not certain of the composition of ink in the 1st century, but you get my point.....we now use packets of "data", beamed thru fiber optic cables....yet God being the Same , today, yesterday and forever....we will see saints, with the same annointing, writing out the Whole Gospel of God, whether it be to teach, or encourage, or be led by other saints to pray for this situation or that need, etc.

to ME, its just fascinating how everything has changed, yet nothing has changed, and we all, are joined together in the "Household of God".......sharing from the same Vine, nurtured by the same Vine, both Jew and Gentile ALIKE, made ONE, by the Ressurected Messiah Jesus, and the Blood of the New Convenant, wholly sufficient to cleanse us from ALL sin.

todays my 53th birthday, and i regard this news as a "present"...because for the past ten years, we've been together...all of the gifts i've recieved from Jesus via this ministry...whether they be audio messages from men of God, or they be precious nuggets of encouragement from other saints, via this forum...i thank God for these gifts, and i thank God for you, your obedience, your labor....and here is the REALLY Good News....these relationships we develop, thru this redeemed corner of the internal....they are Eternal, as in, precisely FOREVER.

so, May God QUICKEN our spirits and souls, to cast off worldy cares and sorrows, and seek a Deeper Revelation of the One we love, Jesus, and Grace He bestows upon all who follow Him.

one final note, and i HAVE to say this, Glory to God, i cannot wait till tommorrow passes, and all people see, how foolish and unprofitable, this business about the "mayans", and that whole stuff about the "world ending" really is. its just empty wind, May God use it for His Glory, to sweep more souls into the Kingdom,amen.
