Collision Course

G
ginnyrose Mar 6, 2012

I have a question that perplexes me. It is a political question, perhaps, but it is an ideological one as well. I see two active forces out there working to wreck the culture but are on a collision course. (I know it is the devil working...)

On the one hand you have the New Age thought that whatever feels good, do it. It is your right and no body dare interfere with your right to your pursuit of pleasure. This is demonstrated by recreational sex that occurs in the form of fornication, adultery and homosexuality. Any Christian who dares to speak out against it is viewed as being homophobic, or old-fashioned or being unrealistic.

The other ideology...Sharia law. Islam is making inroads into American life. There is a push to accept as the norm for community life, including the judicial system and philosophy. Many people are embracing it. But sharia law prohibits adultery, fornication and homosexuality.

How can these forces/ideologies co-exist peaceably? If they can't...

Ezekiel 20:25, "Therefore, I also gave them up to statues that were not good and judgments by which they could not live."

This is something I have thought about for years, and I do still await to see it unfold, because it has to.

In the scripture given above, if they reject God's laws, and they have, they will reap the seed of rebellion they have sown.

Ginnyrose, I think Ecclesiastes helps us understand our own era. Our society is desperately searching for “meaning under the sun”, that is, apart from God. The biblical poet ultimately discovered that everything was meaningless– after a life time of searching for it in all the pleasures “under the sun”. Today, people seek pleasure, but I don’t think it would be accurate to assume people simply do whatever they want just because it feels good. People make choices for deeper reasons. The great angst today is the terrifying sense of meaningless. Take an average teen girl for example. She has little sense of purpose and meaning for her life. So she seeks meaning through submitting her body to a male. Maybe he can give it to her. The greedy power-holders of the advertising industry - fashion, music, consumerism etc exploit that need. That’s only one example. It’s getting crazy and out hand!

The Muslims look on our way of life with horror. But don’t you think that even in our own society, there is also a craving for order, for rules, for some sense of control – oh, and some kind of spiritual meaning. Islam, lets admit, does provide something there. It gives people a clear identity, structure, place to belong, etc. Not everyone sees only the oppressive element.

It seems to be the old pendulum phenomenon: When it swings too far one way, there is an equal and opposite force pulling it back the other way – from not enough rules to too much of it. Do you think that explanation is fitting?

How can these forces/ideologies co-exist peaceably?

I suspect this question is the driving energy behind the desperate attempts to create unity in our world. We 7-billion strong are at the verge of destroying ourselves if we continue in this divisiveness.

Here’s my thought: If the Christian church has not managed to create unity, and continue to be divisive, then our world conferences, etc are not likely to do any better. Someone has said: When you try to make unity, you just cause disunity. Maybe that’s because those with the most power will impose their view of unity on the rest. And of course that's a collision course in itself, isn't it!

Another example that demonstrates how human nature has not changed over the years...Glad you posted this, Enid.

Diane, you shared powerful insights. Especially that of unity: "When you try to make unity, you just cause disunity." Unity occurs naturally when like minds agree and work together for the common good, not caring who gets the credit for what is accomplished.

As I consider the world, the mindset of pleasing self primarily, how it is being played out with the strict laws of Sharia and how it is in conflict, I wonder about the future politically. Will it come down to a dog-eat-dog fight?

Maybe I worry or think too much....any Amens? :-)

The earth mourns and fades away, the world languishes and fades away, the lofty people of the earth do languish. 5 The earth also is polluted under the inhabitants of it; because they have TRANSGRESSED THE LAWS, VIOLATED THE STATUTES, BROKEN THE EVERLASTING COVENANT. Isaiah 24:4

the keyword there is EVERLASTING COVENANT, the answers we seek has already been foretold. Both Islam and Christianity have polluted the sanctuary of strength.

Did you know that Yahweh's Law (the Torah) is also in the Koran? Both religions carry a mixture of righteousness and evil, the same tree we were told not to partake of. The plan of life is total righteousness period.

So what is righteousness then? How can I partake of this recipe for perfection?

Hi theEphah,

Since you stated in another thread that you believe the Word (Scriptures) is the same as the Spirit, I would venture to guess that you do not think Satan is a spiritual being. Would I be incorrect in thinking that or do you believe that Satan is a spiritual personality/being that battles against the Kingdom of God?

No more collisions please.

"THINK NOT THAT I CAME TO BRING PEACE TO THE EARTH; NO! BUT RATHER DIVISION!"...Jesus

All things that defy Him and deny Him are headed on a collision course with Him. Everything wicked, all lies, all unbelief, and all sinners who practice unbelief.

This is called "THE HARVEST"...it is a collision. It is also a time. "The Harvest is the End of the Age." It is the day of division....when that holy WHEAT is gathered....the Parousia...the Rapture if you will. Right along side the unholy tares...the look alike poison is also being bundled.[ I think of Todd Bentley and the gaggle of false prophets who promoted his impish lies..exposed as tares..]

This is the nature of the harvest....and the odd thing to many, is to realize that God has orchestrated this collision....The trial that shall encompass the whole world!

"And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

"For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."

and......"There was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months."

"And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. '

"And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."

This is America too. Power belongs to God, but in this last collision, the Harvest, We will be tested by evil like no other generation. I believe it is within our lifetime's.

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

If any man have an ear, let him hear. "

Brother, that's what your bible says; The flesh is usless, it is the SPIRIT that gives life eternal, these Laws (every word of the Creator) that I speak to you are SPIRIT. The Spirit, the Law; has the power to convert the whole body, even the soul.

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. Psalm 19:7 KJV

That's why the Savior kept repeating this command over and over, "keep my commandments"

It is vital to salvation. The SPIRIT is also the strength of Yahweh (the Law & the Prophets) not some holy ghost floating around brother. Now what has this got to do with Lucifer? Everything!!!

Uphold the Law and Lucifer has no power over you. I didn't make this up, this is what your bible teaches brother.

That is not what I was asking.

Is Satan a created being?

Did Lucifer fall?

Is the Serpent, the Devil, Satan all the same person?

Is Satan an evil spirit?

Thank you,
Pilgrim

QUOTE:

No doubt about it.

As I study Revelation I can easily see, given the times we are living in, how Islam could well be the anti-Christ. If Muslims got rid of Christians, like they are trying to in Nigeria, the ones left will be those who embrace an Hedonistic philosophy. Then they will turn their guns on them and who will be left? Muslims.

Too simple, perhaps. Catholicism does not give up easily and many would understand it will be in cahoots with Islam...

Will see. A collision is in the works, for sure. But I am shaking my head in wonder because we are seeing things unimaginable 40 years ago. Back then nobody ever considered Islam a political force to be reckoned with - then it was communism and to a lesser degree Catholicism.

In his weekly general audience in late May of 1999, Pope John Paul II addressed Muslims in a series discussing "interreligious dialog." He quotes from the 1994 Catechism of the Catholic Church n. 841 which states, "... together with us they (Muslims) adore the one, merciful, God."

The pope and many other religious leaders today, who are being wooed into the ecumenical movement, are accepting the idea that the god of the Koran and the God of the Bible are one and the same. However, they have failed to look closely at the nature of the two deities. If they would do so, they would quickly discover major contradictions between the two. "http://www.chick.com/bc/2000/samegod.asp

In the end, I see the RCC as Babylon, carrying her ancient and perverted doctrines of devils. I see Islam raised up, as the BEAST that will devour the Earth, and despising the RCC and her financial prowess.

Realize that there is a conspiracy of the highest dark powers coming, where Satan Himself, the master of Babylon, switches his worship system from her, to ALLAH' aka: THE BEAST.....THE PRINCE OF PERSIA!..He then vicariously obtains something he has never been able to accomplish before, though he has tried.

A COMPLETE MANDATED WORLD-WIDE WORSHIP SYSTEM!...Islam, and the Mark of the beast..where you can neither buy or sell without that mark. What you have seen in Africa...will come to America. Kneel to Allah, or die.

This soon coming event will mark the greatest glory ever given to the Bride, and two things; She has made herself ready, and She has overcome; but; there is a test coming, and we must remain faithful to wear that holy crown; even unto death.

Things like this were unimaginable 40 years ago. I remember going to school with muslims, hindus, sikhs etc, and they were no threat.

Now, everyone seems to bow to their every whim.

There will be a collision.

When, not if.

P
pilgrim777 Mar 8, 2012

Look at all the "collisions" of history.

collisions are always inevitable in a world that lies in wickedness.

Collisions are nothing new.

What is amazing is that we can have complete peace and rest in a world of fraught with turmoil and trouble.
