Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani remains imprisoned and sentenced to death for converting from Islam to Christianity in 2009. He faces the perpetual threat of execution as Iran’s blasphemy laws leave room to carry out the sentence with little notification. As a result, rumors have spread reporting Pastor Nadarkhani’s death, some even accompanied by a picture of a dead body. However, it has recently been confirmed that Pastor Nadarkhani remains alive and has been imprisoned for over 900 days while awaiting his seemingly imminent death.
