If only every christian could listen to this message! Daniels challenges the listener to not only read the bible more but hunger after it continully and take every available moment to read the word of God. You may think that you have heard messages like this before, but I seriously doubt it!

A powerful message that really convicted me and changed me. I recommend this to anyone who is serious about walking closely with God. Brings conviction on the lack of time we really put into studying/reading the Word of God.

this sermon.... it changed my whole life ...in what way i look at gods word.... now i understand how important it is...i thought i did before...but i dident... if u dont read ur bible every day... if u dont have time for his word....thus sermon will make you take time...no matter the cost...

This sermon deepened my understanding of the importance of God's Word in my life. I wish I had known this when I first got saved at age 12. The Bible would have kept me from sin; from eventually backsliding a year after making a decision for Christ. I think this sermon also raised the standard in my life for personal devotional time with the Lord, spending more time with Him than socializing, and even sacrificing fellowship with people when needed, to fellowship with God Himself. This sermon is a good test on the priority God really has in our lives.

I remember one if the mist outstanding football coaches of the twentieth century. His team the Minnesota Vikings had an outstanding record. At the end if each game, whether they would win or lose, Vince Lumbardie would go into the locker room. His famous quotation was 'Men it is hard to get back to basics. This is a football'. Because the Vikings stuck with the basics of football they always son many of their games. I think they may have gone to a superbowl or two.

I thought of this as I listened to Keith Daniels message on the word of God. It so moved me I listened to it again. Before this thread is archived I woukd encourage the forum to listen to it. This is not a simply read your Bible message. But this is what the Bible can fo for you. Particularly in the area of revival.

Keith not only shares how the word has impacted his life and that of his father, but he shares how the word had changed D. L. Moody. Moody had only a 6th grade education. He had been saved and even filled with the Spirit. Yet his prayers were not being answered. He cried out for mire faith. After much prayer he opened his Bible and was led to Romans 10:17. 'So faith cometh by hearing. And hearing by the wotd of God'. His whole perspective changed. Moody spent extended time reading and soaking up the word of God. Verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book. The result was Moody was used by God to bring revival to Chicago and Scotland. I invite you to listen to Keith's message and hear this testimony.

The thing is we listen to a message like this and dismiss it. We go back and read Leonard Ravenhill or A. W. Tozer and glory in revivals past. And we lament how we need revival now.

Saints God has placed the stepping stone to revival in our hands. It is the Bible. If orayer is the key then the word is the way or fuel for our prayers. Read Nehemuah 8 and see what happened when the Torah was read. If the people could be revived when the Old Testament was read what woukd happen if we would immerse ourselves in the New Testament?

It is said the average person spends anywhere from 4 to 6 hours in front of the computer or TV. What would happen if we would spend half that time just reading or listening to the word.

I am legally blind. In my younger days I was introduced to talking books. These were thick records one could listen to recorded books on. As the program advanced it went to cassette tapes and CD's and now audio down loads. Saints are you aware the Bible is available in any type of download imaginable? You can get the Bible on your smartphone in free apps from the Android or IPhone store.

I share this because reading may not be for everyone. But what woukd happen if one would listen to say the New Testament for hours on end. You can get the Bible dranatized. It's like listening to an old radio play. For you KJV lovers there is Alexander Scorsby digitally remastered. My oh my what a marvelous voice.

Saints this is supposed to be a revival web site. Do we really want revival? Then let us pick up the hoos that will bring us personal and national revival and immerse ourselves in it.

.Can Keith Daniels be right? Is it really as simple as reading or even listening to the word? Did D. L. Moody really get powerful faith reading the Bibke? Was he really an instrument of revival because of such faith gleamed from extended time in the word?

Such questions resonate in my spirit. If we woukd but give ourselves over to extended time in God's word. Just simply reading it or listening to it, what would it do for us? Could we become powerful instruments of revival through our prayers and preaching?

Saints is anyone not challenged to even want to discuss the potential here? How about let's experiment and do what Moody did? Is anyone not even moved to spend extended time soaking up the word asking God to make us men and women like Moody to see revival come to the nations, to America.

Saints are we going to content ourselves just reading about the good old days or are we going to make history. History is his story.

Look I may not be the brightest bulb in the box here. I am no theologian here. But I am practical. If I read something works and here testimony about it I am willing to try it.

I an an avid walker. I like reading testimonies about pedometer walking. I tried it. It works.

I listen to a little digital Bible. I listen to it for about an hour or so each day. But I am challenged to spend more time listening to the word if it will give me the power Moody had. An I off my rocket here?

Saints I want to see revival here? I want to see it in the nations. Tell me, does the Bible really change lives? Has anybody been changed by reading the word?

Next week a a prayer conference is being held here in Little Rock. You know this ministry is wanting saints to pay $50 to come and learn how to pray for revival. And I guarantee there will be no revival. God will give it free if we will read his word.

Maybe I am the lone voice crying here. But if God be pleased I will be the man to spend as much time as possible to be in the word and orayer and cry for for revival. Would any like to join me?

Hi Bearmaster,

I think you have a good question that lies between the extremes we see in the Christian world. Brother Keith is a wise man that push neither extreme but if you have any prejudices in the matter it will become clear in your analysis of what he has said. When listening to this message, it is important to note that Brother Keith talks about the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in his own life and also in the lives of the godly men he sets as examples. It is also good to note that Brother Keith is not putting forth a life in the Word apart from prayer. In fact when tells about God's work in Brother Moody's life, he states clearly that the revelation about how the growth of faith comes by hearing the Word of God came while he was prayerfully reading the Word on his knees. So Keith is telling us that must live a fully sold out life in God by Christ Jesus. Every moment of every day is to be spent waiting on Him, taking every opportunity to be close to Him. Reading the Word, prayer and listening for God's direction are where we are to live our lives as one continuous mode of being. I believe the Lord lead him to emphasize the role of meditating on the Word here because it can be so neglected because it is something not seen of men.

As a side note, Brother Keith refers to Romans 10:17,

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

which talks about the preached Word by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. However, we know from passages like Hebrews 11 that God uses various media as it were, all coming though inspired sources. Most of the initial examples in the chapter refer to individuals to whom God spoke directly though some of the latter ones moved on the sole basis o the written testimony. I think it is wise to expect Him to work in the same manner today and as a result o humble ourselves that we might hear Him however He speaks.

Brethren this message by keith Daniels needs to be put back on the board. This dark hour of history calls for a people to immerse themselves in the Book, and be powerful people of prayer.

I was brought to tears listening again to this message by Keith Daniels. Saints I would urge you to listen to this message. Even if you have listened to it please listen to it again. The message is only an hour long. Then I would urge you, soak yourselves in the word of God and change the world for Christ.

(quote from a noted Bible commentator)

Actually, the Word says that walking in the Spirit will keep you from sin, though if you do not walk in the Spirit and obey when lead to read, you will not fall into sin.

Though in fuller context of the sermon, Keith talks what he means, this is to meditate on the Word, treasure it in your heart and do it. This is not just a mechanical function but is the fruit of a born again Christian.

Amen Jeremy. The word without the Spirit quickening it to our heart us nothing more than a written code. The Spirit gives life. But the letter kills.

It's good to listen to this brother to remind us if the need to be on the word under the direction of the Spirit.
