NEW BOOK: Understanding Mortification: The Pathway to Victory by Paul West (moderator)

sermonindex Apr 19, 2012

Saints,

One of the moderators (Paul West) has released a paperback book from all the writings he has done on the subject of mortification. I truly have been blessed by his writings and when asked to write a forward to the book he was compiling I was more then honoured. I am excited to see it in print and trust the Lord will give it some readership.

Please do also write a review on amazon for the book.

I was asked via FB if Paul's book will be available for Kindel? Anyone know if that is in the works?

Thanks!

It is brother. That, and the feature to "peek" inside the book and read chapter selections. I still need to set those features up through Amazon. The "peek" feature requires me to submit certain pages in PDF. These are all coming, it just takes time - and I am the world's worst procrastinator. It's a wonder that this book ever got completed!

I'd like to thank Greg for writing the foreword, and for promoting the book on SI. And a tremendous thanks to everyone as well who purchased a copy, or who is considering purchasing a copy. I pray you'll be deeply edified by the contents within it and share the teachings with others. I believe God certainly wanted this book written. The price to pay for it was and is dear.

May He richly bless us with all the wisdom and the grace to do His bidding. And may He continue to bless SermonIndex and use this place as an oasis.

And who better qualified to write about mortification than a licensed funeral director and mortician! You should add a chapter in the kindle version (since the print version is already gone to the printers) entitled: Understanding Rigor Mortis. Spiritual Rigor Mortis is akin to being locked into spiritual death (clinging to the life we have been crucified to) and refusing to live the resurrection life Christ offers us in Him. I am not being sarcastic. It could be done well and tastefully but then again it's your book, not mine. Can't wait for the kindle version. I am always greatly enriched by your wisdom Paul.

You should add a chapter in the kindle version (since the print version is already gone to the printers) entitled: Understanding Rigor Mortis.

Did you know that rigor starts in the head and then travels downward, through the upper extremeties, then the lower extremeties until finally reaching the toes? By the time the feet are rigored, the head and arms are soft again. This is how forensic pathologists can estimate how long a person has been dead, even before they begin the autopsy. The spiritual equation to this is the entrance of wickedness at the "head level"; the initial failure to identify with Christ's death - the inability to know, the failure to yield - and, as result, the creeping sense of sin spreading throughout the fleshly members.

You can usually tell how long someone has been "dead" by the manifest sin they exhibit. Moral failure breaking out on the physical level - such as the act of adultery or violence - is but an indicator of a death that occurred a great while ago at the unseen level of the heart. For that is where rigor mortis begins.

If you think there are some rich parallels with rigor, embalming has even more. I am considering a second book which will go into depth on these "mortuary science" issues; this book on "Understanding Mortification" deals with satanic warfare at the grass-root level of the mind. It is essentially a stronghold prevention guide.

I may have to make a few adjustments to the book in the next few days. I found some minor type errors that were somehow missed during the proofing. Also, the formatting for Kindle is giving me a few problems. If you try to buy the book and it says temporarily not available - it's just for a few hours. I promise it will be back up.

Paul, I look forward to reading this book AND the second one as well.

I am continually being fascinated how life or nature reaffirms Biblical principles, hence the appeal of the second book.

When I used to counsel females in a crises, I used the natural before introducing the spiritual. Since God is the creator it stands to reason that nature is full of lessons for us IF we would but listen.

Officially, sold out on Amazon, but one marketplace dealer is offering it at a modest $888.

The book is back up on Amazon, for good now. I have no clue what the $888.00 deal is. I have had everything thrown at me since the inception of the book, all kinds of obstacles and set backs...and now that it's finally published, something strange like this happens. Someone (or something) definitely doesn't want people reading this book.

Oh well, must be a good sign.

I'm going to be working on the conversion tonight and tomorrow brother. This is obviously top priority for me. I'll let you know when it's up digitally. Sorry for the inconvenience.

In my case, I'm hoping for the Holy Spirit's autograph ;)

God bless you Miccah. I hope the Lord uses it mightily in your life. Please leave a review on Amazon if He does! Thanks.
