Saul was rejected only to be King but not rejected of God?

I tried to find the scripture that says Saul was rejected of GOD. However i can only find scriptures that says he was rejected of being King and hence not entirely rejected.

Obviosly when he seeked the witch's counsel he "should be cut off from among his people" but before that?

What do you think? Is this accurate?

I don't know if this is what you are looking for.

1 Samuel 16:14,'But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him.'

1 Samuel 18:12,'Now Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with him, but had departed from Saul'.

2 Samuel 7:15, 'But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.'

1 Chronicles 17:13,'I will be his Father, and he shall be My son, and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him who was before you.'
