My friend Keith has been prayed for before on here, but right now he really needs prayers he has chronic fatigue syndrome. He is struggling really bad he told me right now. I had been praying for him for a long time now and witnessing to him. Please pray the Lord would speak to him, comfort and strengthen him. He needs to know Christ is their.

Went for a prayer walk tonight and included your friend Keith in my prayers for others. However, the question has come to my mind to ask you, has Keith ever bothered to pray for himself?
As the years pass and i fail to see conversions anywhere in this country it has begun to dawn on me, 'Should we bother to pray for people who won't even pray for themselves?' I'm not accusing your friend Keith, please don't get me wrong; i dont know if he has or has not tried praying and seeking God's face for himself or not, but over the years as i realize just how many hundreds of people i have agonized over in prayer i am suddenly wondering if i should bother to pray for people who won't even pray for themselves, who refuse to seek God's face themselves. Like one non-Christian friend i once had asked me to pray for her ailing grandmother yet she herself would not fall to her knees and repent and seek the face of God. This question enters my mind as year by year i am growing so weary of the hard-heartedness of Americans. They don't want to hear about Jesus or about repentance but yet when the fatal diagnosis comes or someone in their family lands in the hospital then suddenly they figure God should answer their prayer for help. Someone in the family dies and then at the funeral they give God a little lip service, but on THEIR terms.
Again, i'm not making any statement here about Keith, it's just that the prayer walk tonight and other prayers keep bringing this subject to mind lately. Maybe i am wrong in suggesting it...but if God Himself has given America over, well then He must have His reasons..
It's something for discussion anyway. In the meantime i will continue to pray for him and others because i have to at least try.
Hey brother i understand what your saying. I know personally myself that it seems my own prayers or seeking the Lord has always been very effective and maybe that is because God is a personal God with us. He wants us to come to him with our hearts. As far as Keith goes from what I know he has had this since i think he was 18 or 19, he is now 28. He was willing for me to pray for him yesterday when he came over. He told me he was going to seek God in prayer when he left, i don't know if he did. He has told me in the pass that he had sought the Lord even gone to churches for help and another christian friend. Now i have tried in the pass to give him a lot of wisdom and words of advice, but i know that right now that is not a good idea, words our probably not needed unless he heres the voice of God in Christ. He feels as if God is silent and is distant, that is why he struggles to believe, he wants to. Its hard i came to a revelation of Christ through God healing me of something i was going through almost 9 years ago, so i don't want to make him upset.But anyways, keep praying that God would open his heart to seek him and reveal himself to him. T
John, I've prayed for Keith since you posted this and my heart goes out to him because I have CFIDS as well from the Lyme and there's a good ministry out there for Christians with this and other similar diseases called "restministries".
An unsaved person doesn't always "pray for themselves before they're saved" and we should never-ever give up on souls.

Yes, i think every afflicted person experiences this. And i don't know any true *Christian* who has not, at one time or another. I used to get very angry because of it. I finally came to a place of surrender, and i think that is what he and other afflicted people must arrive at: surrender. I guess most things are just a test of faith: will you serve or love God even IF.

Yes, i expect that is true. Which is why i keep praying, i guess, even though my inner man is beginning to feel...grieved? Anyway, i'm glad you said so; needed to hear it.
