True Prophets of God

The text is I Samuel: 19-20 and it tells you how to identify a true prophet.

19 And Samuel grew and the Lord was with him and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

20 And all Israel from Dan even to Be'er-she'ba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.

Please notice that ALL Israel KNEW that this young boy Samuel was a prophet. He did not have to go make a YouTube video, he did not have to take out a newspaper ad or go door to door with flyers, he did not have to flaunt himself in any way shape or form. He did not advertize himself or go about holding Prophecy conferences or promoting himself and his gifts or abilities. He did not appear on TBN, yet ALL Israel KNEW. The same can be said of Elijah, Elisha, John the Baptist, and the rest. When your word can be taken to the bank, the news gets around on it's own! It flies like a bird.

I trust you were not meaning to say that the validity of a prophecy is to be confirmed by how confidently or easily it can be "taken to the bank".
Prophecy can only be confirmed when successfully tested against the Word of God.

For instance, I recently heard a prophet go on-an'-on about how God's wrath was gonna' do this an' that treachery to those who did't pull up their spiritual socks an' stuff. His utterances were easy to dismiss as nothing short of pious falsehoods because, according to the Word, this is not how God thinks or behaves.

The same applies to all these dubious prophets runnin' around an' causing all sorts of disturbing alarm by speaking about horribly evil and devastating events about to befall the world.

No Christian should be surprised that the world is becoming increasingly evil resulting in God's creation "groaning". This is merely the earthly evidence of spiritual realities because the sons of perdition are rising up in preparation to be revealed at the final conflict ... Armageddon.

I see all sorts of troubled concerns about homosexuality and abortion and a host of other hot-button issues in these Forums. I wanna' shout, "Why should we care?". Should we have expected anything less when the sinners and lost are creating our laws and defining social conduct?

It's not for nothing that it is said that we don't belong to this world ... that we are citizens of heaven where the rules and activities are governed by God Himself. We have become foreigners on this earth. Much more than foreigners ... us heavenly are perceived as earthly enemies. So, I don't lose much sleep about the evil encompassing about me because I am "above it" ... my thoughts remain on "things above". I have nothing whatsoever to do with the world and the evil powers which are increasingly dominating it. My focus is not on the deteriorating sinful world, but on Jesus and Him crucified; on the face of my God who is the Origin of all Life.

Hebrews implores that Christians "have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil" . In addition, John wrote: "Beloved, do not believe every Spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world", (1John 4:1)

Matthew 5-14:-You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

If truely a person is filled with God's light he will be seen outside. God will not put his light into someone and keep him hidden. He will surely bring him out to shine bright in a dark world. Prophets and people with God's gifts are the same. They do not need to advertise themselves.

He who light lamp will know where to place it as well.

Hmm. Not sure what you mean. In this case, if GOD is the Banker then there will be a pattern of the words being proven true at "the bank". I am alluding to patterns; a true prophets words never "fall to the ground". Never.
