I do believe He speaks thru people today, but it will NEVER be anything that cant be backed up and verified in the already written Word of God.
I am just using your words brother, I am not responding to you. :-)
Why is it that Daniel 9:27 covenant maker have to be an Anti Christ? Why couldn't it be Christ Himself? 70 weeks were determined from the time the decree was sent forth to restore and rebuild Jerusalem (from the time of Cyrus), would it be of any surprise if God took the final week of those weeks and used that for Christ?
That He would confirm the covenant (not make a peace treaty). Confirming is not the same as creating one, confirming is to 'make good' on what has already been agreed upon.
In that final week, Christ was cut off in the midst of the week causing the sacrifice and the oblation to cease (even though they physically continued on in unbelief) as far as the law and the prophets were concerned Christ had fulfilled His part.
And because the Jews carried on in unbelief and continued the sacrifices those sacrifices became an abomination in the sight of God. Isaiah 66:3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
"And for the (and because of) overspreading of abomination", Christ, not Anti Christ, would cause certain desolation (outlined in the law) because of the ultimate disobedience of destroying their only way out, their Messiah (and they knew who He was, according to the parables).
But their end was near, the city and it's temple were to be destroyed and never rise again in it's former glory. Christ hath fulfilled His covenant with Abraham and to those who have the faith of Abraham, being both Jew and Gentile. This new covenant moved from being flesh to spiritual. Jews are now anyone both Jew or Gentile who are circumcised in heart not flesh.
Isaiah 66:4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
John was sent to pave the way, Christ was sent to be the WAY. He called, none answered. When He spoke, they closed their ears, lest they should hear with their ears and see with their eyes. God sent them a strong delusion and they believed the lie of a false messiah that would save their city and temple from the Romans. They were driven out from Rome and had to find other places to live, it's very possible they heard of a renewed hope in Jerusalem where their people were taking refuge in believing that their messiah had come at last to deliver them, only for them to be delivered into the hands of the enemy. Like todays Muslims, they made their pilgrimage to their Mecca Jerusalem to fulfill their obligations to the feast days.
Great Tribulation had come, a time of terrible sorrows for a people shut in. The trial was so great they ended up eating their children, brother turned against brother and people trying to escape where shot. Water that came through an underground aquaduct was cut off by the Romans. It was a desperate time for these people and they were shut in for a period of 3.5 years. In Josephus's annals of the Jewish wars, it was said that the Jews set fire to the Temple.
Christ used the Roman Army to destroy His enemies, thus fulfilling the part about "Taking vengeance on them that know not God and obey not the Gospel of God" 1Thess2:15. This is not new, God has done this before with ancient godless armies. Jeremiah 21:10 For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
An Example of this is: Ezekiel 29:18 Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyrus: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet had he no wages, nor his army, for Tyrus, for the service that he had served against it: 20 I have given him the land of Egypt for his labour wherewith he served against it, because THEY WROUGHT FOR ME, saith the Lord GOD.
Revelation 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
This is speaking about that period between Christ ascension and the end of the age. Those who were under the Altar were in the bosom of Abraham if you will, under the footstool, they had not yet ascended because not all had been fulfilled. Once that time came they would arise from the dead and meet the Lord in the air.
Revelation 6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should REST yet for a LITTLE season, until their fellowservants (Christians of that time period) also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
"Should be fulfilled" is what Christ said they would do to His disciples.
Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
When the "Little Season" of time was up, this six seal was opened and there was great tribulation. Israel who represented as the Sun the Moon and the Stars became darkened. The end of the Mosaic time of law keeping was coming to a close, it's Temple and it's city as the light of the world must be destroyed.
Revelation 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
Their power and influence had diminished and died. The fig tree is Israel not the mighty olive branch. (Jer24:1) Christ gave us this example when He went to seek fruit from it, seeing none He cursed it. The mighty wind is the Roman Army moving in swiftly and taking them by surprise.
Revelation 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
Heaven here is referring to Israel. Every mountain and island are established foundations that never move according to our geological physical stand point but spiritually they were moved out of their places. Namely kings and princes.
Revelation 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
They finally realized that for all their folly of killing Christ, they were now crying out to the powers that be to kill them. They were in such a bad way and realizing all that had befallen on them must be a judgment of God that they begged for death.
Revelation 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
It had come AFTER the "little season" was over.
The wrath of God was only to be poured upon those who made the covenant with death. The covenant with death is that which God outlined in the law that He would do to them if they did not obey the law. Certain judgments and woes and terrible decrees would be issued. The foolish thing about this whole thing was they agreed to it even when Moses warned them they would not keep it, they still agreed to it. Their fate was sealed.
They didn't have to agree to it, they could have all cried out to God to be merciful to them and told Him that it was not possible to keep the law in our current condition being so wayward and disobedient, God would have been overwhelmed with such piety that He would have drawn up another way out for this people that are feeling after Him. Such wasn't the case at all.
So yes, Krispy, I do agree with your words that it must be backed up by the word of God. The word of God does not need CNN to interpret it's prophecies. It's all found in the word itself.
