Carrie Underwood, a country singer, an American Idol winner, has declared her christian faith compels her to support gay marriage. She, with her christian husband, attend a nondenominational gay friendly church.

Carrie had a popular song "Jesus take the wheel" which would seem to convey that she wants Jesus to be the "driver"/Lord of her life.

Well with this latest coming out statement she has most definitely taken back the wheel.

Also she has done what so many Christians do,committed Idolatry.

She has created a God and a Jesus to fit her own imagination. Carrie believes in fairy tale Gods and Jesus that only know a love without law or judgements or right and wrong.

Jesus warned about false Christ's.

God has declared,

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

And for those who cry,'Thats old testament.....

1Co 6:9 ¶ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,(effeminate means homosexual)

Ro 1:22-28

Carrie is and has been an Idol and Idol worshipper She has rejected Jesus Christ in favor of her own personal Idol Jesus. Not the Jesus of the bible. Her "church" fellowship share in this Idolworship of another Jesus and another God and another Gospel. It is not that of the true God, Governor and just Judge of the Universe.

Another unfortunate in this story is Carries influence amongst teen girls as well as Miley Cyrus.

It's sad, isnt it. It's very hard to be loved by the world and maintain one's Christian faith.

I must say tho, as I read this I think that you are being a little too judgemental toward Underwood. Not saying that what was said wasnt true, but Underwood is not a church leader... not a Bible teacher... not a theologian. It's one thing to expose a false teacher publicly, but Underwood is a singer who doesnt even sing Christian music. Why bother making all these statements condemning her? I think in this situation it's enough to say where she is wrong Biblically and then call for Christians to pray for her.

I dont see any grace in this post, brother. I doubt that you want someone casting stones at you publicly, correct?

We need to be able to decipher when to publicly rebuke someone, and when not to. Underwood needs correction, no doubt... but I fear you've taken it too far.

Tim Challies, the top Christian blogger today, spoke at a conference I was at last year... and he had a lot to say about blogging, etc. He said that just like preaching, not many are called to blog... yet we have thousands of them. It's why I took mine down.

By the way, I'm not a Carrie Underwood fan. "Jesus Take The Wheel" is the only song by her that I know.

It's a politics (maybe not dems vs rep) but close to the same thing because I was watching an Adele interview after her appearance on saturday night live and the man asked her if she met Sarah Palin since she was on the same night. Adele admitted that she wanted to meet her but all the people that were backstage were gay and one told her that if she wanted her to complete her face she better not let Palin back there and she laughed and said, "I needed my face on!"

But Adele did add when her friend said something negative about Palin that she didn't meet her so she didn't know if Palin was like that or not.

I would deduce from that there is much of the same thing going on all over the famous world.

I don't know if it's as cut and dried as whoever wrote this article makes it out to be; I'd like to talk to Carrie and hear her side of the story too. Because this article or response has pronounced judgment on her and that is God's job.

Agreed, thats kinda my point.

And yes, homosexuality is rampant in the entertainment industry. Always has been. It's even popped up in the Christian music industry (and industry is exactly what it is too). Two famous Christian singers came out as sodomites in the last 2 years... and if two willingly come out, there are pleny more who have not.

Well "the love of money is the root of all evil" I am guessing most of the Hollywood folks love money, probably were the phrase "keeping up with the Jones" originated. I personally will never support "any" same sex marriage, or any homosexual or lesbian relationships. It's sicking at the very least for me to even entertain the thoughts in my mind. I have a new saying today, "The Worlds Gone Crazy" if you don't believe me look around, Pastors/churches supporting gay marriage, you would have never heard of this in the 50's and 60's you might have been hung out back of the Church from the big oak tree. Jesus is watching all this goings on you can bet, and woe to the folks that have let Jesus down,especially the leaders of our sheep, I sure would not be standing outside during a lighting storm. :)

Well I did say "you might" :) It's probably going to take the threat of being hung to straighten out the Church of today, but God's probably just giving them enough rope to hang themselves. We say "Don't Mess With Texas" down here, God is probably saying "Don't Mess With God" up here.

Well to krispy and any others who feel this is to far or judgmental. At this time I can only say this.

I take your remarks seriously and because of the way God has made me I will be thinking about them for weeks, mulling over them relooking at scripture etc.

In regards to the article posted on Yahoo.

The article is pretty plain and not to hard to figure out.

In regards to my post. Concerning the article and Carrie and her husband and her churches stance.

I currently see nothing wrong or overly judgemental of what I wrote.

Also Carrie actually has MORE influence and sway in the world than a church leader, teacher or theologion. She speaks to millions through her music and this article. She know's the power of her opinion along with Myly Cyrus and others in the Yahoo article. According to her she believes this and wants to support it along with her church leaders and others.

She is an Idol,even an "American Idol." No one can argue she is not idolized by millions.

Anyone who says God is just love and we as christians are not to judge anyone has fallen for a false God and Jesus in their mind. A God to suit themselves.

Krispy you mentioned these "sodomites". That language is hate speech and archaic. Judgmental as well.(according to the homosexual movement and all it's supporters.

Would I be labeled "Judgemental" if I said," Based on the Yahoo article Carrie Underwood and Her Husband and her church are Sodomite Supporters" Now the bottom line is they are but I chose different language to express their rebellion against God and their helping make more people twice the son's and daughters of hell.

The tidal wave assualt on the senses of the American people in regards to Gays and gay marriage is going to rise and rise. This is what they have declared. To proclaim it and shout it in your face till you get it that they will transform America.(Read Erwin Lutzers book,"When a Nation Forgets God")

I will reflect as I said before. And after a few weeks when the dust has settled in my mind and I see that I was overboard or whatever. Then I will post on this thread what I see different, but for now I stand by what and how I wrote.

God strengthen us to be faithful to Him for His Glory!

What sad news. I have long been a big fan of Carrie Underwood for that song. However, i have never been under any illusions that she was anything more than a NOMINAL Christian, just like all the other rich and famous who call themselves "Christian". She was just raised in another one of those backslidden or apostate churches littered like trash across America. She means well, but she only has a little light and does not know the scriptures i guess. Pray for her and for Mel Gibson and Jane Fonda and Gary Busey--all Hollywood types who CLAIM to be "Christians" but are serious lost and spiritually crippled.

Did you know that Denzel Washington is the son of a Pentacostal minister and CLAIMS to be a "Christian" too?
Perhaps it had been better for him and others if he/they had remained poor and unknown.

The Bible clearly teaches us to love others. It also clearly teaches that homosexual behavior is sin. It is not love to recognize that a behavior is destructive and cheer it on anyway.The most hateful thing you can do to someone engaged in wrong behavior is support the behavior. Support the person, absolutely. Not the behavior. Jesus is the friend of sinners (sinners like you and me, incidentally, too, as well as those involved in homosexuality). He is not, however, the friend of sin. He paid a grissly price for sin, not so we could embrace sin, but so that sin could be forgiven. The church should absolutely be friendly to people who are involved in any kind of sin. That doesn't mean they should be friendly to the sin.

I agree with you Brother. Love the sinner but NOT the sin, as they say.


Carrie Underwood and homosexuals think that homosexuality is all about "love". They don't realize that whatever "love" two practicing homosexuals may feel for each other is tainted with sexual LUST and is demonic in nature. And while it is never a sin to LOVE another person, sometimes we must love people FROM A DISTANCE, per God's law against adultery and homosexual sin.

Unified thought among christians is very important. Being unified on what God has to say from His word is our contunual goal. This is not something that just happens. We must labor to submit to the renewing of our minds by the Holy Ghost and by His word.

I was surprised this morning when I logged onto Ray Comforts "On the Box" ustream channel to see the title of the latest episode, "Carrie Underwood takes back the wheel" Which is the title of this thread.

But we shouldn't be surprised.

Many who when first saw the article and are familiar with Carries trademark christian song thought the same thing,"Well looks like she's taking back the wheel of authority" Others however are still wrestling with the biblical position.

I hate to run the risk of being misunderstood or coming across strong and being mistaken as harsh, but here is the truth:
All likelihood is that Carrie Underwood never really gave over the wheel to Christ in the first place. You see, "There must be divisions(heresies) among you to show those that are approved manifest among you"
(I Corinthians 1:11), & "they went out from us, but they were not of us, they would (no doubt) have continued with us: but (they went out), that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." (I John 2:19)
Is there any real fruit in her life that she was/is REALLY surrendured to the Cross, denying herself, taking up her cross daily and dying to herself & this corrupt world? We are so gullible (& undiscerning) that just because someone sings one song that mentions Jesus (in an otherwise whole repertoire of earthly, soulish albums full of songs), they are truly born again?
These days, We make, unfortunately, the same wrongful assumption even with many of the "worship leaders/bands" who stroll in like rock stars, jam the night away, mention Jesus or give an altar call with a "sinners prayer", and "rock the house" in a concert glory more to themselves than the Lord whom they sing about. Carrie Underwood probably (I don't know for sure, but have seen this pattern) didn't even write this song. Any mention of a cross in that song? Any mention of dying daily? Any quoting of scripture, which is the Word of God powerful to save? No, just "I have tried my way, it's not working out, here Jesus, you drive for a little while and let me see if that helps, and then I'll take the wheel back when you start pushing for that carrying your cross, denying yourself, dieting daily stuff".
If this surprised anyone, we really need to pray and ask the Lord where we are in our discernment (or lack of it) & ask the Lord "why are we so gullible?". The answer isn't in more study, more theology, more intellectual understanding, etc. The answer is in intimacy with Christ we gain spiritual discernment in His presence by His Spirit. This is a serious matter in the professing church in America today and better be dealt with before he coming days ahead.
"Test the spirits" is not some intellectual evaluation of what we think. Spiritual matters are only spiritually discerned by the spiritual man/woman who has been in the presence of the Lord. If you have been "about God", but not " in His presence" you need to find out what handfuls of idols you are holding keeping you from entering into the Holy place. Go place them on the altar, burn them up, praise God, and come into the throne of Grace with Boldness free from the love of this present world.
This may seem like a "rabbit trail" to some about the original post, but it isn't. It is a heart issue & crucial to grasp. It takes someone openly supporting homosexuality for some of us to discern they aren't genuine followers of Jesus? Really? I can hear crowds of undiscerning "Christians" crying out, "judge not lest thee be judged", when the Word of God says "the spiritual man judges all things", "take out the log in your own eye and then you can see clearly TO TAKE OUT THE SPECK IN YOUR BROTHERS EYE", "by their fruit YOU WILL RECOGNIZE THEM", "TEST THE SPIRITS TO SEE WHETHER THEY BE FROM GOD", etc. C'mon "church", if we were daily in His presence, letting God crucify the flesh and deal with the inner man daily, and in His Word, filled with the Spirit of truth who leads and guides us into all truth - we wouldn't even need the gift of discernment to see this before this kind of totally rotten fruit was revealed.

Many call themselves Christians. I think of Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and Barack Hussein Obama , and of course the king himself, Elvis Presley, who sang many emotional Gospel albums, and all claim the Christian title.

I'm amazed at the influence over the church that so many famous people have, all because they claim to be of Him, no matter the fruit of their lives or their message.

As far as entertainers , actors and singers go, it appears that this acceptance and promotion of the sodomite is a prerequisite to being a star. Clooney and gang just raised $15 million in one night in Hollywood under this exact banner for our President's re-election who is running on legalizing same sex marriage. Perhaps this is what was in Underwood's mind when she publicized her attendance at this so called "church".

Churches that call themselves churches are often in name only. Also, like the Abortion issue; being a champion for the unborn does not make you a Righteous Christian; it just means you took a moral stance on an issue. The Roman Catholic "church" has done more social activism against it than all the rest of the world combined, and they surely do not carry His Word.

These folks, including Underwood, are of the world, and I see this as an act of exposing themselves as to what they really are; servants of the world and the flesh. Am I surprised or shocked? Sooner or later, the secrets of our hearts will be exposed by our life.

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."

By denying the world, we are hated, and hopefully, will never be received by her.

"These things I command you, that ye love one another."

"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

" If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."

This is our hope.

This is one of the reasons for pointing them out when they make "Public" stands for immorality.

Many christians are very friendly with the worldy entertainers. Many christians get caught up in the dillusion actors,in all their forms, portray.

We can so easily be swayed by these things which is worldy, carnal, and against God.

I feel for Carrie. She like so many others has compromised herself for the world. I do hope she repents and Gives the true God and Christ all glory!

(EDIT ADD) I have taken back from the wheel from Christ many times in my walk, to my shame. I have also had to repent for it and grow in grace! Carrie please do the same!

Amen brother, beautifully said. The Bible said out of The abundance of the heartt the mouth speaketh. Carrie Underwood's support of homosexuality should be Of no surprise to anyone. The Bible says a double minded man is unstable in all his ways, and again thT sweet water an bitter water don't flow out of the same fountain. She showed her support for the world when she started singing country music and trying to mix Jesus into it. Jesus said you are either with me or against me, if you gather not with me then you scatter abroad. The Devil in Matthew 4 quoted Scripture but he is still the devil and is going to hell. The Bible said try the Spirits see whether they be of God. We know it's of God if it doeth righteousness even as he is righteous. It doesn't matther how many are raised from the dead, how good they can sing, preach, testify it if doesn't line up and act like God, it's not of God. We must pray for her salvation and for the ones that are deceived into thinking such people are Christians, Great Word brother.
