maybe i'm totally out of line and someone can give me a little more BIBLICAL light on this, but christians should not be worrying about things like this. don't intentionally abuse the environment, but don't go out of your way to protect it either. there are much more important things to be done for the kingdom. look at what God says:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.do we really need to stress that much over an earth that's going to melt with fervent heat? it's like trying to put a fresh coat of paint on your house as you watch it burn down.
Yes I agree with you completely alan. I mean sure dont purposely start destroying things but dont love the creation more than the Creator.
In my opinion, there is a fairly fine line between being an abuser and someone who pushes the envelope of conservation too far.On the one hand, this Earth IS headed for destruction and we know, as Christians that absolutley no amount of "tree-hugging" is going to turn this place into paradise.On the other hand, however, that doesn't exactly leave us free to become careless with the world we've been given. I think that if Christians aren't careful, it is far too easy to try to apply the compassion and love Christ showed for us (people) and try to apply it across the board (people, animals, trees, etc.) That' NOT THE WAY IT IS TO BE.The earth and the animals in it, are a possession. OUR possession. They (it) are not on our level in any way, but we are called to be the caretakers of both the planet and the animal kingdom of this world.Like everything else in our lives, it is a Stewardship, and God will undoubtedly be calling all of us to account for how we handled what we were given. Now, having said all that, I believe a litmust test, if you will, for everyone in their care of the planet is a simple matter of priorities. If you are spending more time at Green Tree rallies than you do soul winning...If you spend more money making posters and flyers for events to keep people Earth Conscious than you do in your church...If you donate more to PETA than you give towards the work of God...then you've probably crossed the line. People...specificaly the souls of people, should come first, always and in every way. If, after you've thrown yourself into the work of God, you find yourself with a burden and time/energy/money to dedicate to saving animals and trees, then more power to ya.

How are we doing so far? Not too good seeing man allowed the Sin to enter in to it. Since then the whole thing has been in a state of inutility. I did a study of the creation some years ago and found that there was a time when everything was in a perfect state of symphonic equilibrium. Everything worked together in perfect harmony. As beautiful as creation is I believe it is but a shadow of what once was. Same thing holds true for man. We lost more than we realize with the fall. did God ever cancel this commission?I don't know that He did. One thing I feel totally convicted about is littering (for example). Some folk just toss all kinds of things into the outdoors as if it were free. I can't do that myself. I think the primary way in which we are to slow the decay of society is by being salt and light. This is not the natural world as in nature, but in terms of priority I think it goes without saying thst it comes first and foremost. But we ought not to abuse the creation either.
