Half of German teens 'unsure Hitler a dictator'

The widespread ignorance is described in a study called, “Late Victory of the Dictatorships?” conducted by researchers at Berlin’s Free University.
“This is shocking,” said study author Klaus Schroeder. More than 7,500 school pupils aged around 15 were asked how they viewed the various governments that have ruled Germany.

Only around half were definite that the Nazi government was a dictatorship. Just over a third were certain that the former East German government was also a dictatorship.

Very interesting! What is even more interesting are the reader comments at the bottom of the article, which may explain the thinking of some people. Very interesting comments about what they think of their CURRENT government also...lol...

I would encourage the reading of Bonhoeffer, Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy, written by Eric Metaxas. A beautifully written book telling his history and the history of Germany. Not that reading this would solve the issue of our upcoming generation that seems to be generally uninformed about history.
