prayer for revival

For about 30 years I have sensed the lack of power and spiritual vitality in contemporary churches and felt led to pray for God to move among His people to bring conviction of sin and an outpouring of His Spirit. However, I find myself so alone in my vision. I long to engage in prayer with others whom God has also called to intercession but have sadly discovered that folks either are so satisfied with "church" as they know it that they feel no need to pray for a moving of God in their own experience and in the church or else they simply lack the sense of the urgency of the hour that drives them to prayer. I live in central Ontario. Am I called to pray alone?

Dear One,

You are not alone! This is the cry of my heart also and many intercessors that we are praying with on a regular basis for revival. God has put this cry in your heart for revival. The Church needs an awakening. Many are asleep, and quite comfortable with the statas quo, but all that is fixing to change, because God is shaking all things, and this shaking will only intensify. The Lord is going to have a Church without spot or wrinkle. He is building His Church.

Pray that the Lord would connect you with other believers that have a like passion for true revival to come. God has put this burden in your heart for revival, and for many years now I have longed to see revival come first to the Church, then break out in our communities, cities, and nation.

No brother you are not alone. It is not wise of us, though to the physical eye it seems like we are alone. Elijah said the same thing, remember? And what did God rebuke him with, 'I have 7000 that have not bowed the knee nor kissed Baal.' It seems like all have gone astray and all have forsaken. But God has His remnant firmly in place to accomplish His desired end.
and even though the Scripture may read, 'I sought for a man . . .''and God wondered that there was non one'; we can simply say from our heart, 'Even if there was no one else, in my lifetime, my time of right here and now, I will pray, I will seek Your face, I will cry out to you for the nations, I will wait before You, I will ask, 'Show me Your glory.'
God opens our eyes to see, how futile the church is in pursuing God. They seek humanism, they seek for self, they remain in sin and the world and think everything is okay. But we know there can be no holiness of God, where sin is present.
Let us continue 'to give ourselves unto prayer'; let us 'continue in prayer';
SAmuel Chadwick, 'The secret of a prayer life is that it is a life of prayer.'
blessings,
I am in West Virginia and cry out to God for the same thing.
I agree with you in the prayers that you offer that God be glorified.
until,

No you are not alone! I am in the Chicago area, and I feel absolutely, totally like an island, even in my own home. I share the cry of your heart and am praying with all that I have in me.....SURELY God hears!

Recall when Elijah lamented that he was alone? He was told that God had 700 men who had not bowed the knee to Baal. The body of Christ is large. I know there are many who desire to see the church transformed into what she should be. When you pray, you are not praying alone. Those who are in agreement with you may not be physically at your side in central Ontario. They may be in the central USA, or in Great Britain, or in Chile, or in Kenya, but they are praying in agreement with you.

We may be scattered, seemingly silent and fragmented, but you are not alone. I continue to attend a very small local church and although we struggle at times with maintenance etc. the Lord blesses us in that we still are able to hold three services per week. More seem to be going out than coming in however the small core group are steadfast in faith and truth. We join you in sincere, fervent prayer for revival. Not only for the local church but for the entire body, nation and world. I can not recall the last time we have failed to include this in our prayers. Yes if ever there were a need for revival, the time is now. My hope is the Lord tarry and God will honor these prayers and send revival which will carry us into another great awakening. Satan has a mighty hold, and so many are deceived. Each day we draw closer to judgment, but you are not alone brother.

Thank you, friends-it is encouraging to know that there are others whom God is calling to be intercessors.
