Good books found online?

W

I work in a place where I have quite a bit of free time. My bosses don't mind if we are on the internet. I want to really take advantage of this time. Of course I read the Bible, but I was wondering if anyone would have any recommendations of good books I can find online. Some of my favorite books are "Bruchko," "In Pursuit of God," and anything by Ravenhill, for starters.

The Zulu revival - One of the most convicting books I have ever read... http://www.kwasizabantu.com/articles/revival.htm

Deeper Experiences of Famous Christians 1911 version... Such a blessing to read about these saints. (Left hand side 'read online') I recommend reading the intro, and then skipping to Girolamo Savonarola... Historical christianity is what saved me out of a cult and gave me a better understand of God's workings with man... AWESOME stories! http://archive.org/details/deeperexperienc00lawsgoog

I can highly recommend the old Puritan writers, John Bunyan, John Newton, and John Angell James may be good writers to start with...

I found many good books @ www.ccel.org by Bunyan, Samuel Rutherford, sermons by Spurgeon, etc.
As Ron said earlier, www.gracegems.org has excellent resources.
I also order books from www.banneroftruth.org - Richard Sibbes, John Newton, Thomas Manton, the Bonar brothers, etc.

I have downloaded tons of books from http://books.google.com that were "out of print" and free. On the left column after you search, it should read:

Any books
~ Preview available
~ Google eBooks
~ Free Google eBooks *** click this one***

And when you pick a book, in the upper right hand corner under your name (if you are logged in) it will have a gear type looking button, click that it will say "Download PDF." There are still many good out of print Christian (or not) books on there.

If anybody else is interested, I came across one the other day called, "The Evolution of a Creationist" by Dr. Jobe Martin. It was an easy read and he brought out several things that I had never considered.

I am in the exact same situation! I am reading Pilgrims Progress right now! I think I acquired it via ccel but cannot remember.

Definitely echo what InTheLight said as far as "who" to read. Most Puritan writings have been reduced to mere tracts today. A sad loss for the faith. You have been given some great resources already, but simply google the name of a book and type "pdf" at the end and see what you get!

I can also recommend "Deeper Experiences of Famous Christians." I have uploaded it to Scrib and you can find it here:

I also recommend "The Three-Fold Secret of the Holy Spirit" by James McConkey. It can be found here:

There are also many many good Christian books to found at Christian Classics Ethereal Library:
