Pressure of Leadership role

Saints, I am currently struggling with my job. I did not want to become a Team Leader but was forced into it by my company though I was not experienced enough for handling it. Once I took over this position I face so much ups and down in my Christian life. There are some positives - I got more disciplined to set an example for my team. But the negatives are too much- I feel stressed, I lose my temper in workplace, sometimes I feel there is no joy of serving Lord, I get bound to opinion of Men etc. It seems that the negatives are more than the positives. I want to give up the position because I feel it will not suit my Christian walk. But if I make that decision it will surprise my management as they think I am doing a great Job. Also if I ignore this position I will have to work under people who are now reporting to me, which I am not strong enough (in faith) to accept.

I have heard few testimonies of Saints who gave up leadership position in their job to serve Lord better. I want to hear some from posters here, who have gone through the same temptations that I am going through.
If 1 Corinthians 10-13 is true (No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man) then there should be saints who have struggled the same way as I. Please share.

To tell you the truth, I jus' finished saying to Member 'NMatheson' that I was permanently on my way ottah' here when I noticed your Thread and decided to take a peek at it.

Believe me, 'Sree', I've been in the place which you are describing. There were many days where I thought that Sonlight would have to be piped down to me because things were so gloomy and pressured with my employment.
I too was involved in supervisory/management roles in the workplace. My first promotion was nearly a complete disaster; but I remained confident that the Lord would equip me to successfully perform the duties expected of me. Even when I think back on those troubled early days now, my cheeks flush with embarrassment.
Anyways, the short story is that the Lord pulled me through it all ... despite my protests to being inadequate and unfit for the task.
When the Gospel was introduced to me, I was a 'basket case' of emotional and psychological issues; not to mention a sinner too. I was a so-called 'professional burglar' and I had the social skills of a ham sandwich.
Anyways, I couldn't steal anymore after hearing the Gospel and so I begin looking for 'legal' employ. The first position offered to me was to be a supervisor of about 30 people at a Potato Chip manufacturer. So, I closed my eyes and clenched my teeth and showed up for the job.
You have no idea how many times I felt like calling my former criminal friends to threaten some employee who was irritating me.
Now, let me tell you: If God could insert a basket case like I was into a job which I was so poorly equipped for and make it a success, He can do anything!
But that's jus' half the story.
Later, I was employed with the "Cheerio People" and I was a manager there and reporting to the Vice President. Not only that, I was so successful that I received the 'President's Award' there for excellence.
But truthfully! It was all because of Jesus! Honestly! He repaired me on the fly sortta' thing; he used the difficulties of my employment to strengthen me and lift me out of the miry clay and establish my going, (as the Psalmist says).

If it's your own lack of confidence, well Jesus is there to help you overcome that too!
You see? Jesus is glorified by our success too. He is glorified when we allow Him to do splendid and marvelous things in and through our lives.
Jesus doesn't exactly make supervisors or managers. What he does is help you do whatever your employ requires. He will never allow you to be shamed if you trust Him to work things out in and through your life.

We often hear of someone being a blessing to someone. It wasn't until I was in management that I began to fully understand what that meant. As a supervisor and manager, I was in a position to extend patience and kindness ... to answer the question first-hand "What would Jesus do?" for those employees under my care.

So, comeon!, 'Sree', go to work today and decide to watch how Jesus will work everything out wonderfully for you and also for your employee team.
There's only one other person who wants you to succeed in your early tasks more than you ... and that's Jesus!

The testimony of servanthood through a leadership role would only validate further the testimony given prior when you were not a team leader. These challenges often test and grow us in so many areas that a page is not adequate for their mention. Yes Joseph was faithful to Lord at both Highs and lows of his life and also Daniel. If these men of Old Covenant can maintain such a high standard, then I who has a privilege to live a new covenant life should have much higher standard.

Thanks a lot everyone for your encouraging words. Frankly I thought posters will advice me to leave my current position but instead they have encouraged me to move up into greater standard. This is awesome.

On reading some of your testimonies, I understood this, what is the use of having fruit of Patience in a peaceful environment? If I truly have the fruit then it should be put into test in a challenging environment. I did not seek this position, but it came to me by God's grace. Let him enable and empower me to complete it. I will not shy away.
