It is stands interesting to me that the Lord refers to the Holy Place when speaking of the last days abomination.

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains"

The holy place IS the temple mount, where the current Islamic Temple stands. No where does it state that a Hebrew Temple must be rebuilt for Jesus to return.

Did you ever consider that an Islamic Anti-Christ might occupy that one and same temple, to prove that he is Jehovah, and declare himself Mohammed/Jeshua?

This is the holy place, where Isaac was offered, and David saw Jesus, at the threshing floor of Ornan. It could be that people are looking the wrong way...and there will never be a rebuilt Jewish temple.

Well over 50% of Israeli's are secular, and only 12% [ or so ?] are devout Hasidim. I do not know, but this is a possibility.

What else would the prophet call it when he was prophesying it in his day?

The only Third Holy Temple is that of Christ's body being raised from the dead and as Paul said that we, His body, that encompasses all both Jew and Gentile is being built.

Whatever the children of the flesh want to build over there in Jerusalem has absolutely nothing to do with our Lord Jesus Christ. The things that are visible are not eternal, the things that are unseen are eternal. For they that worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit and Truth, not in a Temple made with hands, for the Temple of God is within us, which ye are. "Know ye not that you are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"

Never before was this possible until Christ came. God was in Christ Jesus because Jesus, though in the likeness of sinful flesh was not a son of Adam. The Holy Spirit would come upon men at by times, but Christ made it possible for God to dwell IN man. The Temple of God is man, more specifically the man Christ, the perfect man. To say that God is in building a Temple in Jerusalem in our day is a slap in the face of what Christ did 2,000 years ago in making it possible for God to come into His Temple, man. How? "Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world". Not "sins" but the "sin" of the world. That was taken away, the enmity, the thing that was in the way.

There is no separate plan for the Jews and one for the Church. God is not a bigamist, He's got one bride and one Church, and if the Jew cannot see that God was in Christ Jesus reconciling them unto Himself, they will stand before God as a sinner and they will see Abraham Isaac and Jacob, the three Gentile patriarchs sitting with Christ and them thrust out because they refused to believe in the only begotten son of God but rather chose to kill Him instead of embracing Him.

Be interesting to see how this plays out.

Stephen and Paul state in Acts that God does not live in temples made by human hands. Approved has said we worship in the Spirit. Not on a mountain or in Jerusalem. Besides Paul declares in his writings believers are the temple of God.

Firstly you lost me. What else would the "prophet" say? This was the Lord Jesus speaking; God in the body of man, not a prophet.

Secondly it is about what He did not say. He did not say that the anti-Christ would sit at the "Holy of Holies in the Temple", did He?...He said "The Holy Place"...which in my thinking refers to that one and only ancient place where Isaac was offered, David saw Jesus and Solomon built the Temple over it as the Holy of Holies.

Is there a Holy Place today? Yes, but it is not on Earth, nor will it ever be again. The Ark of the Covenant is in Heaven, and that veil of the ancient Temple has been forever torn. Jesus and His sacrifice now possess the Holy of Holies; it is He Himself. Even if the temple were to be rebuilt, the Holy Place would still be a location on Earth, not an actual Spiritual identity.

The holy place, as an Earthly location, the threshing floor of Ornan, now rests under the wicked temple unto Allah on the former temple mount...but for identification purposes, it is called yet the holy place, and that by the Lord Jesus Himself.

Yes, Jesus knows that there is no longer a spiritual temple in Jerusalem that He dwells in....but yet he referred to the Anti-Christ as sitting there, proclaiming himself as God; Jesus called it the Abomination that makes desolate!...and identified the location as "the holy place."

I am laboriously pointing this out maybe, but I do not want it misunderstood again, that's all. It could well be that there NEVER will be a Temple built, but the Muslim anti-Christ could proclaim himself God right there; The Al-Aqsa Mosque: The Dome of the Rock...with his talking statue and fire commanding prophet right beside him.

These are but signs anyway, and "when they come to pass", you will know. Just offering my perspective. There may indeed be another temple built, but I doubt it; the secular Jews seek peace too hard, and know that war would come down on them 100 times more than they have it now. I am pointing out, as I see it, that it is not imperative that the temple be built for the anti-Christ to possess it; the holy place is already in their possession.

What about Ezekiel 40 and on? Wont a third temple be built according to scripture, seemingly, for the millennial reign?
